So you'll stop respecting people who recognize themselves as transgender? 'Cause that's all that matters...

Read above ^ biological male

So, here we go, there is actually two different things going on. There's IOC and there's IBA. Both responsible for evaluating the athletes. IBA understood that the athlete cited above has a Y chromossome. Another comitee, the IOC, didn't have the same results. There's apparenly some traits of corruption in the system of IBA. The athele which we are talking about was born female, raised female.

"Khelif, however, was born a girl and grew up a cis woman - identifying with the gender she was assigned at birth. As a child, she was raised in a rural village and was unable to participate in sports because her father "did not approve of boxing for girls."

So they are both girls. Fine end of story. JK Rowling Zip it

Yes. That was never the case, being transgender. Both are cisgender. However JK Rowling said that one of the women wasn't classified as a woman because of her testosterone and IBA evaluation. So she began saying that it was like men beating women for entertainment, etc.

No, one has XY chromosomes which means they have a biological, physiological and overall advantage over someone with XX chromosomes. This is what has been studied for 100s of years and is scientific fact.

If the individual was “raised” as something else does not negate the biological, hormonal and physical advantage that they have over someone who is biologically female. This was a biological male, fighting a biological female.

This is science, this is fact.

I understand. But IBA didn't inform exactly what happened in those tests. And in fact the argelian boxer might have (we don't know, it's one of the possibilities since she really was not born male) DSD which is a Disorder of s** development - conditions in which the reproductive organs and genitals do not develop normally. People with DSDs have a mix of male and female ***ual characteristics. That might have make the IBA not let the boxer be perceived as a woman. She's an inter***, in this case.

All we know is that this argelian boxer has been receiving transphobic/hate comments towards her because of - mainly - JK Rowling emphasized...

It is not tricky whatsoever. It is literally the most studied thing in human history. XY is a male, which means they have more testosterone than a female. It doesn’t matter what else you’re talking about. Their bones, muscles and over all skin tissue and organs are stronger. This is not a debate. She has a valid point. This is nonsense.

JK is frothing at the mouth to slam this athlete and turn it into an anti trans statement. It's too early to even know what is fully happening here. This athlete has built an entire career while following previous rules and regulations. Women born XY are not men. They do not have the same hormone levels or genitals as men. They are fully considered women at birth due to their anatomy.

From Politico:

"There is no suggestion Khelif has done anything wrong. She is not known to have cheated by doping with testosterone, which is a naturally occurring hormone which both men and women produce. Boxers, need it be said, are supposed to punch each other very hard.

Nor is Khelif transgender. Unusually, she is reported to have XY s** chromosomes — most women have XX s** chromosomes — but Khelif was born female.

On Saturday, Khelif will return to the ring in the quarterfinals of the light welterweight division. Her opponent is set to be Anna Luca Hamori of Hungary."

I thought people’s whole argument on this issue is that you are the s** you were assigned at birth. And since the boxer in question was born female, what exactly is the issue? Make it make sense. :idgi_dont_get_it_how_confused_what_hmm_umm_thinking:

I for one am glad I never bought into the Harry Potter hoopla. JK Rowling is a disgusting human being.

Jk didn’t see it like that. She started calling one of them as male for some type of evaluation they had on IBA (an institution they have for these games rules, tests, etc)

This statement is contradictory and makes no sense. The object of the sentence says they have XY chromosomes. Which indicates they are male. And they also state another fact: woman have XX chromosomes. They were not “born” female, they were “raised” female. Doesn’t mean she “is” female. So this sentence proves the point.  This is an individual who has had the advantage of XY chromosomes, which will ultimately advance over biological women in this space.

This! And look at how they are pushing this narrative to further demonise trans people.
