Britney's team was working on presenting new music to her to get her excited to record

Britney has said a trillion times she’s “not made for this business.” She’s also traumatized by fame.

A return to the business shouldn’t be taken slightly by anyone, including her team. And her team and her fans need to respect how she feels and where she’s at in life.

As Revenge said, if this was true, they shouldn't have let it make the news before even discussing it with Britney. The label has all the right to present ideas to Britney if they still have a contract with her. She also has the right to say "no thanks" and either they continue pitching ideas or they end her contract with whatever legal or monetary implications it may have.

We don't know if there's any clauses regarding a minimum of albums she has to release every X years, or that they have to produce for her (normally a recording artist would worry about being able to release as many albums as possible but that's obviously not Britney's case). Maybe they only worry about keeping the rights over her old catalogue and are fine with that.

Either way, the specifics of their contract or whatever they do or have to do behind the scenes to meet all parties' expectations is something that we shouldn't be hearing about. Now Britney's pissed that people are making up stuff about her, when all this could've been kept secret.

Now, I don't think anyone wants a forced album from Britney just to fulfill a contract, so maybe all she needs is time 🎶

Some of you “fans” are out of your minds. Stop bullying her to return to something that caused her so much trauma - you sound like Jamie.

If she wants to come back and gift us with music someday she will. Let the woman heal and respect her decisions.

As if she is some kind of invalid. Take your men in suits, corporate chit chat & f.u.c.k off. She is a fully capable, she has made her mark. God i can.only imagine how annoying this all is for her

And this all reinforces the obvious: she is not well managed. Cade may be a good friend making her feel good, but he is not a good professional! A good professional, whether a personal friend or not, would know how to work around these things and avoid these mismatches of information. But she doesn't trust anyone and lives in this mega closed cycle of contacts, which makes things complicated.

Yeah sure they just happen to break this story right after she says she’s done. :teigen_chrissy_eek_awkward_um_cringe:What a coincidence.

That being said that was the impression I got before she even said anything. I hope Cade’s got her back and isn’t trying to push her to release music. I actually think her semi-angry tone was more because of her team than her fans.

Some interesting points in here and I kinda agree with them all.

You cannot force her to do anything.

But at the same time is she REALLY enjoying sleeping in all day and doing absolutely nothing... If the people closest to her think she will eventually self destruct then I can see why they would try and reignite her spark.

It's easy to sit from a distance and judge and but I'm conflicted between them trying to genuinely help her or them trying to profit from her... And I'm sure she has the same trust issue for obvious reasons.

She ultimately will and can do whatever she wants, but if her support system is genuinely trying to help her then I'm glad she has that support, all they can do is present her with options and opportunities and its up to her. One thing I know for certain is that what some people with mental health issues need is not necessarily what they want... But that's not to take away from her right to choice. She earned that freedom, I just hope her trust issues don't ruin her, how can someone truly trust in the industry after what she's been through....

Not you telling her to go to work like her own opinion of things didn't matter....

Her instagram videos mainly consist of her dancing to music. I don’t see how she can’t can’t make a music video since she loves dancing to music so much.

You say that like she wouldn't have tiktok conspiracy theorists and banon slam her for doing exactly that. If Britney recorded a ton of songs in two weeks, written by others and released them, they'd claim she was forced to do it. Let Britney do it on her terms if ever she wants to there, there's literally two decades of music released to listen to.

I partially agree with you. When I posted that part of me did feel that, but I'm over it now. Overall I'm just sad. Looking at news articles about it on Facebook today and all of the comments are negative and indifferent about her. Nobody cares about her, they seem to be happy that she spoke about leaving the industry again. It's sad to watch because she used to be America's sweetheart.

Because she doesn't want to, simply as that.

This seems very pre-circus era. And nobody wants snooze-fest “invitation/man on the moon” *** from her again.

She clearly isn’t here for it - if/when she wants (which seems like never now), she’ll do it. But until then, we have a 40-something year old boring ex-pop star as our fave :slayde_meme_red_glam_neyde_neydeney_britney:

Man on the moon is a career highlight.

But yes, if she ever releases another album her fans will hate it just because it's not full of dated kesha rejects. So it's better for her to retire.

Not to ignore your point, but what do you expect from social media comments? If you go onto any celebrity page, they are filled with negative comments about all celebrities; Taylor Swift, who has had one of the most accomplished careers if not the most accomplished career in music history, is on a world tour that is generating millions, gaining critical response wherever it goes, while she's releasing albums and rerecording thats are outselling records that haven't been met since she set them while gaining further positive critical response, and released a movie of her tour that was a huge success globally and got her nominated for a golden globe, in the year she was named Time Person of the Year and there is always the few contrarians (or bots) who will say ''I've never heard of her'' who just want to be seen or cause conflict, because the algorithms benefit from that kind of content.

Comment sections are a seperate entity to critical response and sales, and in the past year and a half, Britney has released three projects; Two songs and a book. While MYB wasn't hugely successful, HMC became huge stable charting hit that garnered critical response from fans and critics, and her book has been a huge success, in a year filled with hugely successful book launches.

My point might contradict itself a little, but in all cases, there were responses, threads here and online were filled with ''Its not her, its an old song'' when she released HMC which was false, MYB was deemed AI when it was actually just an old reworked song, and people claimed her book was never coming and then, that she didn't write it. If Britney did release an album that was just there to tick a box, it wouldn't be met any differently.

People will always love Britney, despite what the comment sections say.

I have noticed much less positive comments towards her lately. At the time of her freedom she had a lot of public support. Even when she got scandalous headlines about the book info leak (abor**on etc) she had so many kind comments from people that said they weren't fans but support her over Justin, etc. I've seen most of that disappear lately. It's not scientific and I'm not going to be counting the positive versus negative comments for you. But it frustrates me that she isn't perceived well, I think she could improve her image a lot by explaining herself in a thoughtful elegant way. But instead she's angry, reckless, and seemingly doesn't care about anything.

Why the heck is she surrounded by stupid leeches who constantly want to force her, "motivate her" to do things she does not want to do? She has been more than clear. What the heck?

I think there will always be discourse, and its always been present in her career (and the careers of other women in pop music and society in general). I do think it is always a catch twenty two however. I mean, when Britney was sharing very candid insights into her expiriences in an honest manner, threads here were filled with comments that were more negatively leaning that she shouldn't keep sharing.

I think the book sales announced today kinda prove that as much as there is discourse, people are still very much here for her.
