I listened to Bionic for the first time some months ago, and while I enjoyed a lot of the songs, I also thought it was a bloated mess. Months later, I lowkey like the album a lot. :duadance_lipa_new_rules_green_pink_dancing: Granted, it's still way too long, and many of the songs feel ill-fitting and out of place when it comes to the overall theme of the album, but on their own, most of the songs are great. In fact, the songs that fit the album the best are lowkey the ones I like the least. :haha_britney_laugh_lol_lmao_hehe_haha_bw_black_white: Here's how I'd rank them:

For an album that's essentially the precursor to the Flop Era™ as we know it (I guess you could say she was ahead of her time in this regard at least ezgif-4-a8d81f15f7.gif), this is actually a pretty good ratio of bop vs. not. Had she axed a few of the songs, it could've been a solid effort, methinks. Like, I'm not someone who enjoys being screamt at for 4+ minutes, but every damn ballad on this album is a hit. :fakecry_christina_aguilera_xtina_crying_tears_wipe_sad: And let's not forget she was one of the first mainstream artists to work with Sia and Nicki. I mean, Titanium came out in late 2011. :fakewow_selena_surprised_shocked:

If anything, it's the track sequencing that's weird. IMO, the interludes could've been spread out more (and there could've even been another one), plus some of the songs just scream, "I belong in another section of the album". For example, why isn't Vanity part of the Love & Glamour section? :huh_britney_confused_what_2003_itz_zone_in_the:

Because im a fan I only have great things to say about this album (well I think Lotus is horrible) the ballads are the best of her career and the uptempo are catchy, some tracks are mainstream and others more alternative.
Is more a variate album that a conceptual one with a specific sound, like Stripped, the most conceptual of her is the Back To Basics and even in that album the majority of the ballads are normal pop and not a vintage type of ballad.

Yes the order is like over the place but nowdays with the stream type of listening that doesn't care, and how can be this tracks in order with every being so diferent? For example all the uptempo together and the ballads together is weird too.

I agree with you. I loved this album when it came out; it gave me that feeling of being modern and new. However, as I listened to it over time, I came to the conclusion that it's just too long, not necessarily in a bad way, but excessively long. Some of the best songs on the album: Not Myself Tonight which has a great mv, You Lost Me, Elastic Love, Glam, I Am, Vanity, Birds of Prey, s** For Breakfast. Woohoo sadly feels disjointed and annoying - Nicki has a great verse but forgettable. The song it’s just a choice; let that sink in. Overall I’m convinced this album is a bop! spacer.png

I'd suggest listening to it in two parts because it's so long that it might make some of the songs seem more boring than they actually are. I'd stop around You Lost Me, let those songs sink in, and then do the rest later. :riri_rihanna_take_bow_wink_flirt_hand_white:

I think she's just too arrogant and needs someone to keep her in check. I'd probably have a hard time axing songs too if I were a singer-songwriter, but this has lowkey been a recurring problem for her. I mean, Stripped clocks in at 77 minutes, and Back to Basics at 79. :haha_britney_laugh_lol_lmao_hehe_haha_bw_black_white:

I have to admit I LOVE this album, even the bonus song Little Dreamer which is the most upbeat pop song about a miscarriage I have ever heard...

However, Xtina was forced to compromise on the album. Some of it sounds futuristic and innovative, but other songs sound like B-sides from Madonna's Erotica.

It’s okay, and the quality is up to par with her previous releases up until that point. Quality changed with Lotus, but Liberation was pretty nice and refreshing!

During this time I think Gaga mania really took a toll on her, but truly she was already looking into the futuristic thing as a response to the nostalgic sound she was exploring with Back to Basics as seen with Keeps Getting Better. It definitely isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be. Half of the album is really just there for the aesthetic and lacks substance, but in the times where the music is good on the record, they are some of the most mature and excellent songs of her career post Stripped.

bonus tracks should have made the record instead of tracks like Vanity and Not Myself Tonight

I actually made my parents buy it for me when it first came out :gimmemoar_britney_hat_more_gimme_giggle_haha_hehe_lol_2007_vmas_lmao: 

Have listened to it here and there, on and off since 2010… Not Myself Tonight is definitely the highlight, the title track slays, Elastic Love is interesting, Desnudate is cool. Glam is kind of fun and I like the melodramatic vibes that You Lost Me gives. :fakecry_christina_aguilera_xtina_crying_tears_wipe_sad:

Not as familiar with the deluxe tracks, they're not bad though… Now that I think about it I've definitely bopped to I Hate Boys, Vanity and Bobblehead too. :byetina_xtina_Christina_aguilera_pink_leave_bye_walk_leave_carpet_cheetah_hat: 
I'm also the type to take a basic bop over "experimental" stuff any day, hence NMT being my favorite. :gimmemoar_britney_hat_more_gimme_giggle_haha_hehe_lol_2007_vmas_lmao: I've definitely used Bionic, but there's something that keeps me from calling it a great album… like it's a bit exhausting to listen to, if that makes sense. :umsaywhat_adele_hmm_umm_thinking_confused_unsure:
