I almost feel like the stakes are higher if she did a cover, cuz first the music has to be good, she has to sound good and over she’s competing with the original artist and their fans.

Britney does not have the vocal range to sing songs like that especially by Mariah Carey.

You said ages ago which proves my point.

I am not saying she can't increase her vocal range but as of right now,

her singing voice is not as strong and she just needs to work on it.

Which is fine cause there's nothing wrong with improving yourself.

 

Besides you don't need to have a big vocal range to be a great singer, 

there are lots of female singers who have pleasant sounding voices but don't sing high notes.

I don't think its a bad thing at all.

Personally for me, vocal tone is much more important than high vocal range cause high notes can get old pretty fast while vocal tone does not.
