Britney Jean: Reloaded (Fanmade Album)

Hey y'all this is a concept album I put together for fun over the last couple of months! Created with the vision that Britney Jean was re-released in 2014 and the album featured alternate mixes, remixes, and tracks that were cut from the original track list. I created 8 out of the 14 tracks using AI, 2 are AI tracks created by other users (SweetXtract for Perfume and Pearl for How Long?), and 4 are preexisting remixes.

Some background info for each track:

I wanted to create something from this era that was more sonically cohesive than the original album. I like the idea of experimental EDM that the album has so I played into that. I thought the best way to open that was by using William Orbit's Insurrection Remix of Alien.  I wanted that to set the tone for the rest of the album. Following that I decided to use Simon Ellis' remix fo Work ***** that he created to be used for the revamp of Piece of Me. This remix ultimately went unused for the show but I thought it deserved a place somewhere. I think it pairs nicely with Alien and I love that it uses Britney's pre-recorded vocals from the residency.

Next up is one of my favorite unreleased tracks, Stereotypical Lover. I know this was originally pitched for Femme Fatale, but I did read a rumor that the track was reworked and pitched again for Britney Jean, but who knows. I did find a reworked version done by Triana Terry on YouTube and that is the mix I used for the album. The Other Side is a song by Jason Derulo that I don't believe was ever pitched to Britney. I did find an AI version on YouTube by Popney Princess and I just loved how the song sounded with Britney's voice. I ended up making my own AI and layered different AI vocals which I think came out pretty good.

The next track was leaked by Britney-Online and is the original mix of Body Ache which is then followed by I Came to Dance. Unreleased tracks/writer's demos seem to be a rarity for this era. When this song leaked I instantly fell in love with it! I did the AI vocals for Britney as well as will.i.am but I liked what Sean Paul brought to the track so I kept some of him in. The next track is yet another Femme Fatale outtake that was later taken by Jason Derulo, Breathing. I liked the track and did the AI mix and combined elements of Lauren Christy's demo and Jason Derulo's final mix to create this. I'm Not Gonna Tell My Boyfriend is sort of an oddity. I found the track on Dbree and it was done by Allie X. It was labelled as a Britney reject but I can't confirm if that's true. The song is listed on Genius from 2013 which tells me if it was pitched for Britney it could have been for FF or BJ (or very early Glory sessions as my gut is telling me?) Regardless, I liked that the AI translated Britney's iconic British accent very well and I thought it was a weird, fun beat. Each Britney album IMO has an odd track that just sticks out and I thought this one did the job!

Passenger (Alternate Mix) is a track I've posted on here before and it's actually what started this project. I thought the Nick* & Country Club Martini Crew Acoustic Mix of Brightest Morning Star paired nicely with Passenger. Siren & Exhale are two tracks that I just adore. I know Exhale was recently confirmed as being originally for FF but I couldn't resist putting on the album. I'm not sure what album Siren was for, if it was ever pitched to Britney in the first place but I gave Miss Myah her moment! I thought the AI came out decent for both. Perfume & How Long? are done by SweetXtract and Pearl respectively. SweetXtract used the multitracks and took all the vocals (including Sia's) and I think it just came out beautifully. It sounds like an alternate take. How Long? is a song by How to Destroy Angels from 2014. I thought it was just really cool to hear Britney on such an alternative track and thought it would be a lovely closer to this album.

 

I really hope y'all enjoy! I know AI is controversial but I did this for fun and just wanted to create something fun for an otherwise controversial era. Let me know what you think

This album isn’t meant to replace the previous one, think of it as a part 2, if you will  I loveeeee Don’t Cry and wanted to include it to some degree but I think the original is perfect as is. Wanted to included a Tik Tik Boom remix but it just wasn’t flowing well with the album. Still lots of love for those two tracks and the entire album <3
