Confusing if she got paid 15M for the contract because even if she received no money whatsoever that’d only be 3M at an average of $25 a sale. I know that’s only the first wave but generally you’d expect huge sales followed by a hefty decline, even if it continues to sell well. 
 

But doesn’t the B&N site say it’s had over 200k in pre order copies sold? I feel like that’s what I saw earlier.

Uh, no… I’m asking how these publishers make money. If Britney gets 15M it would take 600,000 copies to make that back. And even then they’d be at zero. Maybe it is expected to sell much more than that – I don’t know. But to hear that 150,000 preorders is a lot (since I know nothing about book sales)... Well, that’s far from 600,000. My question is simply about the math.  
 

But I’m also just now seeing that was France alone.
