Dua’s copyright trial dismissed by Judge after Reggae band claims she copied their song “Live Your Life” with “Levitating”.

Judge states that there’s no sufficient evidence that she or her team attended their concerts or that their music had exposure on a global scale.

I love her but tbh this is insane. The songs are so similar it’s not even funny. A blatant copy.

Artists and labels actually seek out new music and are exposed to smaller artists via spotify, soundcloud and other sources. Not just songs in the radio...

It appears they settled outside of court. I could be wrong but to me, it seems as though there was some sort of payout for the group’s attorney to be saying the case has been resolved to. I also am sorry but it’s such a common occurrence in the industry to steal from lesser known names. So disappointing and this one is so obvious

If a song is uploaded to the internet, you can get to them quite easily now (algorithms), so I don't understand the "not a global scale exposure" reasoning.
