Kesha's new album 'Gag Order' debuts at #187 on this week's Billboard 200 with 8300 units sold

This album made me cry upon first listen. Maybe it wasn’t a commercial success, but the music did connect more this time around & overall Kesha is a great song writer & performer. Rick Rubin did a good job producing the album.

I didn’t even realise it was out. I don’t think she cares if the album flops though.

I guess it's her last album required for Dr. Luke's label, so I've no doubt her finishing the contract is more meaningful to her than the hypothetical commercial success of this album would've been.

It's her first album that screams "not commercial" to me, so I'm surprised her label allowed it, but maybe they just wanted her deal to be over also.

Yikes considering all her other albums made the top 10 at least with their debuts.

Bebe performed better than this. Just sayin'.

BEBE deserved a lot higher lets be honest

I'm shocked, I just checked and learned that this album debuted like 100 spaces below Jewel's recent 13th album. I love Jewel and she still makes a good living, but her audience is more niche now than Kesha's. Like, Kesha's Spotify listenership is more than 10x Jewel's. That put into perspective for me how this album just tanked numbers-wise.

Yeah that sounds about right? Is it worth listening to? Heard it's quite experimental and I'm not sure if I'd like it nnnn

I didn't listen to much of it as I mainly listen to Spanish-language music currently. I think if you just listen to a song or 2 you'll understand what direction she went in and know if it appeals to you.

It's very angry,  and the album cover is a play on the legal term Gag order,  meaning she's been silenced.

It's not for everybody,  it's very angry and wanting revenge on people who did her wrong, it's her therapy album.

She'll go back to her sound now it's over.
