Touring is physically taxing and she had to get surgery on her vocal cords due to overuse in the past. I totally understand why she would be protective of her health and her voice by not putting herself through a tour. I'm bummed because I would love to see her live but I don't doubt she's making the right choice for herself.

You guys making excuses, months and months of touring, yes it's bad

but around 15 dates of touring is part of their job, it's to celebrate the songs with the fans

I'm listening to the album now and wishing there was a summer tour

While I love her music, she's so problematic to me when it comes to her music/art that it makes her borderline unlikeable.

She often trashes things she's done in the past, even though at the time she would have sworn it was important to her. For example, before the release of the 'Younger Now' album, she was talking negatively about the album saying she didn't identify with those songs anymore and was ready to move on from them. So you're pretty much telling your fans that you don't like your own music and to pretty much ignore it. 

Like I get the sentiment that your music is meant to reflect a moment in time and you grow from it, but that's not what she does or says. She is quick to throw it away as if it wasn't her and anything related to it needs to be forgotten. It ends up creating this lack of authenticity and you have to wonder who she really is. She actually reminds me of Demi Lovato in that she's often at war with her own identity which for someone who write her own music, it really takes away from being able to take her seriously.

Now she's here saying she doesn't connect with touring...

This boho attitude of hers is just off putting.

Do artists really expect their music to just do its thing on its own with little to no effort from them? The way she paints off touring as if it's to pleasure others...girl please, you wouldn't be as a rich as you are today if you never toured. 

I really have a problem with people not having a reality check. Living off those few cents you get per stream didn't buy you your milion dollar home sweetie. 

And yes, before somebody tries to mention it, Britney's case is different. She was forced into it, forced to tour. She's legit traumatized.

 

So yeah...such statements, without a clear personal issue such as a literal trauma, sounds extremely tonedeaf to everyone working and to loyal fans imo.

I mean, Touring is part of the Job and we are in 2023! There's a lot of ways you could make shows without all the stress, I Understand a long run of shows is annoying, but a 20 show tour its not a big deal...and touring creates connection between the artist and the fans...

A lot of people saying touring is part of the job, and while this is almost always the case with musical artists, have you seen her contract? I imagine her contract specifies performance requirements or a lack thereof. She's high end rich even in the world of known musical artists, and there isn't the same need other artists have. Not all artists perform live much, and some don't at all (i.e. Enya).

I'm just really sad that I'll never see her in concert.

Idk. I just saw Taylor Swift and the connection among Taylor and her fans, and everyone across Gillette Stadium was electrifying. It strikes me as unusual when 10s of thousands of people come to hear your art and your response to them is, “There is no connection.”

she doesn't have to tour if she doesn't want to because she's already a millionaire, but it's just off-putting. i get it, touring must be the most stressful part of the job, but it's an effort your fans would appreciate. she has nothing left to prove but touring allows you to showcase your talents and take your artistry to the next level. this just shows a lack of interest and passion in her own craft imo. it gives kendall vibes with the whole "i don't need to do 30 runways a day" narrative.
