Do you feel "guilty" buying/listening to the music Britney released during her conservatorship?

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I don’t even know what to say therefore I’m interested to hear your thoughts. I think “Femme Fatale” and “Britney Jean” were recorded during the peak of her conservatorship  which caused the start of so many controversies - lack of involvement in the creative process, other people singing the songs, Dr. Luke, poor aesthetic choices, etc. I let Glory out of this as she stated numerous times she had fun recording it and I believe her.

I own the Femme Fatale CD and I’d buy it again right now. However, I’m a bit disgusted that my money went straight to team Con. Do you feel "guilty" buying/listening to the music Britney released during her conservatorship? There’s no right answer so feel free to share your honest thoughts.

Tough question. I sometimes do feel bad that I supported the Femme Fatale Tour. I honestly would feel even worse if I had went to see the POM Tour, which I didn’t thank goodness! It’s hard to answer. I don’t think any of us thought she was being trafficked but there was talk of her being medicated and we all seen it in 2010/2011.

I almost bought the POM tickets but a change of plans occurred due to so many VISA implications and during the Femme Fatale tour I just didn’t go because I was too young and my parents said: :nonono_britney_nope_head_shake: All of this were for the better in the end, I guess. However, I forever live in bitterness because I couldn’t see her live. :meltdown_panic_scream_falling_die_ahh_scream_yell:

:gloria_falling_stairs_trip: not an excuse but you're kinda right

Giving your money to immoral people is just part of living in todays society, you cant escape it, even our taxes are going to illegal wars and crimes.

One time an Tesla car on Uber picked me up, and the driver was complaining about his car and wanted to sell it because he hates Elon Musk! I reminded him that every corporation has owners that are worse than Elon Musk.

its a slight guilt but at the time we did not know, most of us didnt like the cship already but we never knew the extents of stuff so its hard to blame ourselves like this. I feel deeply for Brit and if we knew what was going on at the time things would have been very very different so for that reason I dont feel much. Nowadays I cant help but think whenever i listen to Circus, FF or BJ if she herself enjoys the songs and what are her feelings towards them and that haunts me more than the fact that I supported the project during that time when I didn't know what was going on

Some ppl can escape but it's like living like a hermite ... we can escape for some part, depend your level of being part of our society. As for die-hard Britney fans imo it's terrible ... like buying everything that's released in all formats & platforms, it's too much imo.

I only bought Blackout/Circus/Glory

I honestly think she enjoyed the recording process, even during the cship. It seemed like an escape for her, but maybe I’m wrong.

yeah i feel all of her conservatorship work is still her work, it’s just under the conditions it was being produced cause it to completely affect the final products we received as fans.

I feel like it was as if she’d say: like this is the concept but imagine it better because my team sucks and I’m enslaved but still love what I do, I just need freedom to let my creativity shine.

To be honest, no because we didnt know what was going on and tbh the way she was zoned out during FF promo, i was worried she was having mental issues again. But i think even Britney would agree it wasnt her fans fault, we didnt know

The thing is the cship  was necessary for maybe 3 or 4 years max. she clearly had mental issues and without intervention she would've died. ive said on here before i was waking up everyday in 2007-2008 thinking am i going to go on the net and see the headlines saying shes dead. so it was necessary because she'd either have ended up dead or financially ruined. But unfortunately her family realised it was a cash cow for them and continued it way longer than it needed to and they abused the power it gave them. it should've ended in 2013 when she looked back to form [physically, BJ was **** but she looked well again in interviews] and she signed for Vegas. at that point if she was well enough for 2 years in vegas, she was well enough for the cship to end. so it was abused. But thats not our fault. i feel a bit of guilt seeing her in Glasgow in 2018 but im not beating myself up about it. i didnt know what was going on, it was probably my last chance  to see her live as she always missed glasgow on her tours and shes never gunna tour again. so yeh i feel a bit of guilt but its not my fault i didnt know what was happening

I dont even think Britney blames us whatsoever. she knows we didnt know what was going on and then when we did, we campaigned for her to be released.

What exactly made you think Britney would die in 2007 - 2008? She absolutely had and still has a mental health condition (as do many of us), but I’ve never believed she was on the verge of death. It seemed like the world was exaggerating everything.

A conservatorship shouldn’t be for someone who makes bad choices. It should be for someone like my disabled cousin who cannot physically feed, bathe, or clothe himself.
