Princess. She’s earned it. Has she done enough to maintain it… I don’t know. No other pop girly was as iconic as Britney prime. She legit did sooo many iconic thing in her early years that it’s cemented her legacy in the pop world. 
 

I currently think Madonna is STILL Queen because she still is changing the game for women. Although she’s not charting with number one singles, she’s still relevant, touring, being an activist for social Justice, and breaking down barriers for women in their elder years. Yes her overtly segxual style/actions feels tired and cringe at times but it’s creating a lane so by the time Olivia Rodrigo is in her 60’s and wants to looks segxy, the public won’t be as shocked. 
 

If Britney is truly retired from music, I think Rihanna or Lady Gaga could give her a run for the Princess of Pop title, but both haven’t seemed too interested in maintaining a music presence.

Princess but her light is fading. She needs at least two successful eras to reinstate her ownership of that crown. Britney 1999-2004 was a moment in time. It feels like a life time ago. Glory was 7 years ago, her last big album was 12 years ago. How can Britney still be Princess of pop if she doesnt release néw pop music.
