I mean Criminal is one of the biggest hits of that album looking at her streaming numbers... So maybe a 5th single? 

also, Up n Down and He About to Lose Me deserved videos!

I remember Inside Out was pretty popular outside the fanbase too.

In the long run criminal is the beloved single from that era but in hindsight I would’ve targeted trip to your heart

4th single: Trip to you heart - just imagine an outwordly video, her in the space or something. Would have loved it. But considering it would have been summer, Big Fat *** is the best one.

BUT I don't even like Hold it Against Me, lol, so my singles for this album would have been:

1. Big Fat *** (to me, it was the most first single worthy, the feat. the beat, the melodies... great song)

2. Trip to your Heart

3. Inside Out

4. How I Roll

5. Criminal

Criminal was the right choice as a single, it may not have been a huge hit in 2011 but it was a fan favourite at the time and it ended up being the most streamed track on the album with semi-viral moments, so it had the last laugh in the end.

If we got a fifth single, Inside Out would have been a good choice, maybe with a feature remix to give it an extra push since the album would have been out for a while by then.

The problem with criminal,  was the video..

 

It caused so much controversy especially in london..

 

Unfortunately it was also midtempo. Radio wasn't gonna embrace a midtempo or a controversy song.

 

Interscope quickly canceled judas , and went into a more safe choice with The edge of glory, even gags was more tame in the video..

 

All that was 2011, but Rihanna was allowed to go all-out controversial with we found love and help Calvin Harris get his American breakthrough by the holiday season of 2011.
