I think it's because the remix wasn't that great and the european video of the original mix of the song at the time (altho it wasn't released in the US officially) had already been doing the rounds everywhere by the time it came out, thanks to the Crossroads movie promo.

I overlapped the original mix with the remix video the other day and I actually feel like it suits the song way better - missed opportunity in my books, the release of this single in the US was a hot mess.

I remember being so disappointed there wasn’t an episode of Making The Video for this.  She had so many episodes prior!  Crazy, Oops, Lucky, Stronger, Slave, Not a Girl and then we didn’t get another one until MATM and Toxic.
