Shania Twain’s ‘Queen of Me’ is out and it’s everything we’ve needed!

With a reputation for being the trailblazer for country/pop, it’s fitting that this album is more pop than country…and it works!

Rather than doing a song by song review I would just urge everyone to listen to it. I’d say it’s up there with the Up! album.

I liked it - it's nothing groundbreaking, but not every record needs to be. For such a short album, she covered a lot of ground. The 50s/60s influence on one of the tracks caught me off guard, and "The Hardest Stone" was weird. The rest were rather simple, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. And all the pre-releases sound much better on the album as a whole.

i think the fact that after so many surgeries to regain her voice she still is able to sing, perform and record the albums is a miracle. So i will definitely give it a listen.

I would consider this potentially one of the worst albums this year

I wanted to go to her new tour, but I dont think id enjoy it if shes gonna sing songs from her last two albums.

Im a huge Shania fan, I have all her albums, and going to her tour this year.

But her new album sounds like a new upcoming wannabe country singer from California!

Atleast its better than her last album, maybe it will eventually grown on me..

Yes! Her last album was almost unlistenable besides like 5 songs. This song is an improvement from her last album. After hearing the NOW album, I knew she would make a big change with the followup. I hope she keeps the momentum and releases a followup to Queen of Me in about 2 years and takes this new sound to the next level.

I’m going to be controversial, yet, brave: I absolutely love Shania. I always have from her first album, but I’m not digging the effects on her vocals: like, it sounds like she was singing in a tin can. Like, it’s giving….….”I’m trying to keep up with the cool kids.” The album should’ve been an EP or something….

I don't like the album - the vocal production is tragic - her vocals are too edited. I would really like to enjoy this album, but if it was without heavy reverb, autotune, and her vocals weren't unnaturally shaped by filters.

 

We can hope that the protools sessions will be leaked and we will be able to hear her voice in an unedited form
