Which celebrity disappointed you the most by not speaking out in support of Free Britney?

Probably Beyoncé, Lady Gaga (she showed support but I wish she said something earlier), Taylor Swift - but I’m hoping that these people had reached out personally, I think Beyoncé would have.

I would actually say that the expectation that people have on other celebs to say or react to “controversial topics” is problematic.

This. The situation is far too complex for random celebrities to be jumping on the bandwagon and Britney keeps the situation confused with her bizarre behaviour and posts.

The last thing a celeb wants is to drag the conservatorship and next day Britney is having a breakdown...sorry but it has to be said.

After her testimony if she had taken a social media break, done something official to clear the air and let everyone know she would have gotten much more support from celebs.

We as fans, who follow her every move still don't know wtf is going on half the time....

There’s nothing risky about simply acknowledging Britney’s suffering, at least from a PR standpoint.

It's hard to swallow, but the truth is that. That was going to have a hard ending in all the scenerios and I think Britney realized that and finally took the wheel again. She refused to work anymore and play their game and gave her testimonial and that's when her fanbase got united and the public opinion helped her.

It happened in her time, such a shame it took too long, but she only got out of it because she used her (s)word.

 

the truth is you're a victim blamer who doesn't understand trauma and should sit this conversation out before you make a bigger fool of yourself

more of the people that actually worked with her at time. people like beyoncé, lady gaga, etc they speak for specific reasons that benefit them in the end. but the people that directly worked with her at the time all stayed silent. EXCEPT for iggy, and look what happened to her? everyone wrote what she said off and didn't believe her. imagine if more people would have confirmed what she said and gave their own stories? people like g easy, demi lovato, will i am, rihanna, nicki, her dancers and tour choreographers, etc. 

i know everyone loves to credit cher for saying everyone "heard things" but that would mean cher also heard things and didn't say anything until it was popular to do so too.

THIS ACTUALLY. YES SHE IS AFRAID AND CONTROLLED AND THREATENED, BUT ALL EYES ARE ON HER AND SHE COULD HAVE SPREAD AWARENESS AND TOLD THE PUBLIC.

 

But then again, she can only do it on a live airing tv show where Team Con cannot control the footage.

Team Con controlled everything about her life down to who she called and texted, can you explain exactly how this would’ve gone down, as well as why nothing happened for years after that voicemail of hers leaked and how she feared for her life and didn’t think anyone would even believe her

Well Cher heard some rumors back in the day like us fans did, but none of it was confirmed or detailed to sound the alarm. Even fans here only started to be fully Free Britney after more info was put forward.

i'm not blaming cher (or any celeb for that matter) i just find it non helpful that people bring that tidbit up about cher all the time. courtney love also "heard things" and spoke about what she heard and look how people treated her at first. there's a very real reason why these things people heard stayed silent. fear.
