What did Britney REALLY DO to justify the Conservatorship

During her 22 min YouTube video where she details what happened to her she said she “never really understood what she did”… to deserve the treatment she got.

was it that she stopped being a controllable celebrity?

because there were no drugs in her system, she shaved her head nearly a year before and put out a solid album out. She was in no way going broke! She was worth more in 2007 than she is now! There was nothing actively wrong in Britney’s life that made her seem mentally off enough by 2008.
 

she didn’t have dementia, she wasn’t deemed susceptible to undue influence until AFTER the con started. It’s almost like a joke in itself because the only undue influence was the Con…

It was all too planned out, the con started in 2008 and a massive album and promo leg was able to be planned within the same time, a plan that wasn’t even designed by Britney, they had to have been planning this for years the industry literally forced her back into working and made her a controllable pop star again

Nothing at all. The State of California, Reva Goetz and every single person involved needs to be held accountable and in prison. Nothing could justify taking a 26 year old woman’s constitutional rights away even if they thought she was a “danger to herself” as they tried to pull. Then to make her work an insane schedule for 13 plus years? As if nothing ever happened? Wtf. There were so many other ways they could have stepped in and actually helped Britney. I really don’t understand how this happened to her. It’s sick.

She cut out her family and with that they lost the only income they had and they didn't want to give it up at any cost and like leeches they did everything to have access to her account and as a result happened what happened

she did nothing wrong! the people around her did. she started standing up for herself, doing what SHE wanted, and cutting the users out. they didn't like that, couldn't let her go, so they hatched their plan to steal her life. but britney did nothing wrong, nor was anything wrong with her.

I don’t think this thread is a good idea because I don’t think some fans will like the FULL answer.  But unless you were a fan back then AND actually closely following what was happening in the years BEFORE the CON, you have no idea how dark the situation truly was.  In 2007 , the year right before the con alone was filled with shady people and men taking advantage of her financially , ***ually (imo) and mentally just to sell their story, breaking down and sobbing on the side of the road multiple times, the (seemingly present) psychosis, the hit and runs, the CPS calls, the POLICE having to come get the kids after she barricaded herself inside her bathroom with her crying infant son, ambivalence towards the kids’ care and custody, so much more I’m leaving out. She was having a full blown mental health crisis whether fans want to admit or not. The insane pap and media attention contributed to that no doubt.

The free Britney docs from present day that newer fans have watched don’t even touch the worse of that time period and I’m glad about that. She shouldn’t be retraumatized for views.

SHE STILL NEVER DESERVED THE CON. She was obviously still able to feed and cloth herself. While I agree there was alot of undue influence (similar to the situation with Anna Nicole), I still don’t agree she qualified for the con. Imo, letting bad people in your life or Having a serious mental health breakdown or illness should not be a pre-requisite for losing your civil rights, no matter how much you wish to force “help” onto a person unless they are a present danger to themselves or others. They controlled her for money and it’s sad that they made her life worse over it. Imo, She stabilized and had a full recovery in 2008 and had they given back her freedom at that time, her life would have been so much better imo.

It’s weird watching fans pretend nothing was “wrong” with Britney back then or that she was acting completely rational/normal. It’s like fans feel if they admit she indeed was struggling, they are afraid it’s like co-signing the justification of the Con. But it’s not.

In my opinion, I feel Multiple things can be true at the same time. She had a horrible, predatory family who took advantage of her wealth and good nature. She had a full blown breakdown and exhibited very concerning behavior that happened to coincide with her rightfully cutting them off. AND they reacted by forcing her into a conservatorship that she never qualified for, using her mental health in 2007 as a cover for their greed and ineptitude.

They’re doing the same thing now. They (and the public sadly) are pointing to her present mental health situation as proof the con was necessary and as a cover for their abuse of her. Completely ignoring the fact that, if anything, the CON is the exact reason for her present situation. They traumatized her beyond belief and every time she reacted to it, they looked to it as “proof” she’s unwell, rather than proof of the extent of their abuse and greed.

The issue I have with your statement is that it leaves out causes or reasonings.

Britney went through a major divorce from a relationship that ended badly, and was going through a custody battle where the lawyer was using the court of public opinion as fact in court, and her every movement was documented, including her slipping on a street step, then spun to paint her in a negative light.

We then have to add the context we have now onto it; the Britney's dad was in contact with TMZ around the same time. So the people Britney was cutting contact with were in contact with not only the people who were harassing her, but also, the people trying to take her children away...

...and then, on top of this, we can't ignore that the first 5150 didn't work, she was let out in less than 24 hours. Additionally, the level of spectacle doesnt just happen; paps need to be tipped, air clearance is needed.

There was always an alleged statement from a doctor that the only thing Britney suffered from was post natal depression, and Britney confirmed that...

...but I think we need to move past the notion that Britney did anything to deserve.

We should admit that she didn't have it easy at all and no one helped her, didn't take her away from the media attention, and her family even fed the media to achieve their goals. She didn't have a chance to be a mother because all the people and all the circumstances of the time took that opportunity away from her.

I completely agree with this statement. Like I said before, I believe multiple things can be true at the same time. Mental distress doesn’t exist in a vacuum. There can be a variety of environmental factors that contribute or prompt a mental health crisis. It’s hard to say how much of 2007 was due to a mental illness or just a breakdown from the insane life circumstances she found herself in. Sadly, Britney might never know because Team Con bulldozed into her life and hired doctors who would say whatever team con wanted them to say. I wouldn’t trust Team Cons opinion of Britney’s mental health and I wish she would find a doctor she can trust so she can unpack for herself everything that happened and finally heal on her own terms. But thanks to what happened, I don’t think she will ever trust a doctor again and I don’t blame her.

There was never one water tight argument to the conservatorship, which is why they had several weak ones that only worked once it was in place, and the only way it was put in place was to remove Britney's right to notification...

Once that was removed, there was no chance to object to anything being put foreward by Team Con; they were never in the room. After the con was put in place, most arguments were justified due to the nature of the conservatorship in and of itself.

Britney couldnt fend for herself because she was "incapable" of being able doing so, and in turn, couldnt hire a lawyer, because she didn't have the capacity, as the court decided...

...after that, every argument comes down to situations that everyone is entitled to do, but was used to either isolate or control; Britney might be susceptible to "undue influence" from nefarious characters like Lutfi. Making a questionable decision around friends isn't a punishable offence, but this was used to isolated Britney, because a court ruled it.

Britney might face financial ruin? That was never going to happen, but if Britney wanted to spend her money on anything, she's entitled to do so. This was used to control her estate...

...and were seeing it now, Jamie's Lawyer has made it clear it was never about health, so controlling medical autonomy was about control. If there was ever a justifiable reason, they would have used it as a medical declaration. 

 

Team Con were able to justify anything and everything due to mere presence if the conservatorship, and any argument Britney could make was defunct by nature of the conservatorship...

Reminder, after Britney's testimony, Jamie's Lawyer still tried to gaslight Britney, and say she just didnt remember or recall events correctly. Even now, his current lawyer is trying to claim a contract signed, despite Britney's own testimony saying she was essentially threatened with legal action if she didn't comply, is proof she wanted to do the Vegas show. Britney legally didn't have the capacity to sign contracts.

Business executives saw an opportunity to exploit a family who was willing to drive to an audition for a Disney show when their child wasn’t even age appropriate. Knowing this, they gave this child the best producers, a deal with MTV to heavily promote them and would use this child to make millions knowing she would be always willing to work, exploit and sell herself to make them money. 

Once she began to fight back, say no and break free of the curated image, they would not allow her to ruin their investment, so they worked with the courts and got her in a conservatorship. 

I believe the paparazzi was assigned to cause her downfall so they can get her scared, in check while also continuing to exploit her downfall for money … like she is fighting back let’s show her how much we can ruin her life and film it the whole time. 

I think the industry is all connected and I believe Mona Lisa was Britney foreshadowing what they were trying to do … and I think the only way she got the song released is because she went to the radio DJ directly to play it .

It was a family business after all, I’m sure all the executives were like we are not going to let this hillbilly girl stop our money machine … we’ll do what we have to to get her in line again …

and it all just got turned up by 10 during the conservatorship, with the final straw to get her in check was the clinic where they drugged and scared her for life … it was a more aggressive approach than the 2007-2008 strategy.

And now they are trying to use the media, but I think they think it’s so far gone and she won’t ever be a pop star anymore so they will just invest in her legacy and are hoping she hurts herself

Exactly, what’s so sad is that they made a “family business” out of her torment and struggles. Throw into it the money machine behind her that was inserting clauses into the business contracts REQUIRING the con to be in place to safeguard their “investment”. 🤢 Sooo many gross conflicts of interest that I’m still shocked enough of the media didn’t point out or seriously look into until the Free Britney movement.
