I think your defining controversial based on the actions of the public figure, while im basing it on how society and culture views the public figure.

For example, I think Jesus is good and not controversial at all, but hes considered controversial because of how society views him, and his effect on culture.

If I criticize Hit**r, everyone will agree with me, but if I criticize Jesus, everyone (including none Christians) will attack me because hes a controversial public figure.

I think the list mentions when they were most controversial…but Michael Jackson says “both” in the alive/dead category? Just confused with the Jesus bit.
