Is Britney A Best Selling Artist?

She never gets introduced like that. She only gets introduced as “the legendary and the incredible Britney Spears!” But she’s got 2 diamond albums and many multi platinum records. 
 

Why are Britney’s album sales never mentioned like other artists 

1999-2000 she was a best selling young artist 

2001- present she’s just an icon 

 

Are we fine with that or does Britney deserve to be recognized for her sales?

Britney was recognized at the BBMA's when she got her award, they put in her promo package the records she sold.

Also there haven't been too many times in the C Ship Britney was introduced at award shows.

Brining up her sales wouldn't make sense as an intro if she presents an award.

People often stick to princess of pop I think, and she is also criminally undercertified  But yes, she is.

Until GH,  her numbers were pretty good. Then there was a sharp drop in its chart performance. She went on to sell less and less - with the exception of Circus, which managed to sell almost twice as much as Blackout - until she couldn't even get a platinum certificate for her last albums..

it looks like after 2007, you have to be a new artist or blow up to sell big numbers then again any artist around their 5th and 6th albums start selling less and less unless you’re Taylor Swift

Obviously but I doubt her stats have been updated and the reason her sales have declined is because she doesn't resonate with the public especially marketing wise. The industry has changed and through Brits own admission she's kinda fine with that, wants a semi normal life and who can blame her tbh.

She’s one of the greatest selling artists of all time. Top selling artist in the decade of 2000-2010. Top selling artist in the late 90s. One of a few artists to sell over 100 million albums. #1 selling teenager of all time.
