Taylor hasn’t had the same cultural impact as Britney and likely won’t, but she is definitely the current reigning Queen of Pop IMO. I can’t wait for the Eras Tour!

The fact that this is even a question shows how sad the state of pop is at the moment. Taylor has nothing on 1999 - 2007 Britney or 80s - early 2000s Madonna.

disagree, being queen of pop is more than just sales, in that case i would call her queen of music industry, what she's achieving has nothing to do with the music genre.

She’s the queen of folk and boring music 

Like others have said, the title is about more than sales. It’s about cultural impact. Taylor may sell well but her songs (save like 3-4) and looks don’t really stand the test of time regardless of what her crazed Swifties litter on this thread. 

I can’t stand Madonna, but her title is hers alone and has accomplished more in terms of cultural impact/legacy than Taylor has or will

Of course not... Queen of streams and platforms? yes, of course... but she didn't have the cultural impact, the game changing skills Madonna had.

What I need from a king or queen of pop is someone who can dance in addition to making music, and that's not Taylor, although I could list many things she's done that I like. Michael and Madonna totally delivered on what those titles mean to me.

Taylor is my current favorite artist, but when I think of pop music, I do not think of Taylor.

She experiments a lot with her music, and crosses multiple genres.

I mean she’s the queen of trademarking, but if your dancing talent is meh enough to have your whole show destroyed by Katy Perry using one of your backup dancers, then I don’t think you can be considered a Queen of Pop

I like a few of her songs she's nothing stellar imo.

I mean, she's one of the main pop girlies but the new queen of pop? I beg to differ. That title still belongs to Madonna, who had the biggest cultural impact and she entertained like our grandparents, then parents and now us (gen z). Then we have Britney and Gaga and Kylie. Also Taylor is in her own league, therefore there is no need to place in that race for the new queen of pop.
