Well I was raised Christian however according to my mom and family:

im not officially christian until i get baptized and also give up alot of things including being a Britney fan.

The rules and expectations are too much for me to ever be baptized but I still believe that there is a devil and a god.

I just dont follow the rules, you know?

But then again, I dont really do anything bad.

Im pretty innocent for a 29 yr old.

But yeah I grew up religiously

Not to say anything negative about your family, but that's the reason why so many people are turned off by Christianity because of people like that who think loving Britney is a sin or that Pop music is a sin. They give Christianity a bad name. Everyone knows the real Christian is spiritual not religious. Jesus hated religion.

Yeah I dont get why my musical taste has to do with whether I go to hell or not.

In my family's church, women are expected to:

• not dye hair/highlights
• not wear makeup
• no jewelry
• no sleeveless/tank tops
• no dancing 
• must serve men
• not have sx til ur married
• not  go to the movies
• not  go to concerts
• must cook for men
• must not like music of "this world"
• no getting ur nails done

So you see why I havent become christian in my life?

Who wants to live by all those restrictions?

The Bible doesnt mention any of these,

I think these rules were made by sxist people at church

and also since Im Mexican, I think that also plays a big part in it.

Yes I agree! It's all the 'higher up people' of the church who make those rules. Yeah that definitely sounds like a toxic church! You should find a church that accepts everyone. Set Free is a good ministry. They have churches all over California and the United States.

I'm sorry they made you feel like that. It's nice going to churches where you can come as you are.

The most important thing is your personal relationship with God that counts and that's all that matters!!!

Yeah I agree.

I usually do go with my mom and grandma to church services cause there nice events.

Nobody's actually said anything about me wearing makeup, having highlights or my nails done.

 

And like I have made lots of mistakes in my early 20s that I told anyone from my church organization, they would label me a sinner or demon or something like that.

Yeah I still am iffy about God but I do know that there is more to the world than what we see.

Sometimes I feel like no one understands how I feel.
