Christina Aguilera versus (barely) Britney Spears: Grammy nominations and winning. We know who owns the throne

What is it about Christina Aguilera Fans and this compulsive need for justification at the expense of others? Christina literally cannot exist without her fans attacking others.

Noone denies the fact that Christina has the ability to sing, but career peaked in 2006 regarding her artistry. Since then, her albums have either been inconsistently average that she ruined with her attitude, or undeniably bad. Bionic, Lotus, and Liberation have a handful of okay tracks, but are weighed down by music that is undeniably bad. Her most successful tracks come as radio chasing collaborations with far more successful acts...

...and even with her ability to sing and her musicality has become even more questionable due to the fact her default is to show off, rather than use her voice correctly. She chooses to shout, run and belt even her most intimate ballads which is a bad use of a voice; any singing teacher or expert will say it, just because you CAN do it, doesn't mean you should...

...and that's before we even recognise that she has a history of just being an unlikeable person at a time when her career was successful, which goes beyond Britney. Punching P!nk? badmouthing Madonna? Questioning Lady Gaga's Gender? She was a known diva not because she knew what she wanted, but because she was horrible to work with, and that only changed when she dropped from the pack, when all of her contemporaries far surpassed her and so she had to humble herself...

Β

...and this all before we then look at her fans who are vile online to defend the most bare bone success, and the irony of it all is that if they put anywhere near as much effort into attacking other fans or acts as they did supporting her music, she might end up charting for the first time this decade.

Congrats on the Latin Grammy Nominations, shame noone has heard the music.

When have the Grammy’s ever been relevant? If we’re talking about awards, let’s talk about all of them because Britney has won 378 awards out of 707 nominations while Christina has won 228 out of 517 nominations. Plus, Britney received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the VMA’s, the Millennium Award at the BBMA’s, and the Icon Award at the Radio Disney Awards for her influence in pop culture and music while Christina has only one award that celebrates her impact with the Music Icon Award she received at the PCA’s last year. Not bashing Christina because I like her songs, but let’s not ignore facts by only looking at one award show that has proof of payola and ignores more iconic pieces of work and artistry.Β :)

Yeah, we all know Christina has won more Grammy's. But Britney beats her in literally every other metric. Britney has sold more records, has higher streaming stats, bigger touring numbers, has won more awards overall, and is a cultural icon around the world. That's no disrespect to Christina, because she has had a lot of success herself and is very talented, but let's not try to act like Britney is some kind of flop because Christina has more Grammy's than her. If that really meant anything then artists like The Chainsmokers and Meghan Trainor wouldn't have more Grammy's than ABBA, Queen, and Diana RossΒ :blol_britney_2011_ff_femme_fatale_laugh_lol_haha_hehe_lmao:

Don’t tar all us Christina fans with the same brush. As we all aren’t like that. I agree some fans do take it too far, but I’ve seen similar on here with Britney fans towards Xtina/Xtina fans. Majority of us on here are probably fully grown adults and the back and forth is petty AF now, it’s 2022 ffs people need to build a bridge and get over it. I’ve never once slagged Britney off on this website I’ve always been nice when commenting. I’m not a massive Britney fan but I do have respect for her and her artistry and there’s no denying her influence and impact on pop culture.Β
