Elton John: there's five or six different versions of "Hold Me Closer," this is the version Britney chose

I love that he praises her artistry and talent but he makes her seem so weak and all he is doing is charity work to make her feel confident, because he is the one person that can inspire her. And he admits it’s her ear that picked the one version that chose the global hit.
I respect and like Elton, but the more Britney/family drama there is, the more he lays it on that he’s doing charity work for her and is just tryin to get her to be a confident woman.

I have to admit the same thought crossed my mind, like this is the kind of thing you don’t have to share… cause I don’t think anyone wants to hear that someone is trying to bring back their confidence as if they were their saviour. But I still think he means well.

Elton revealed there were 5 or 6 versions of HMC but this is the one Britney chose.

It's nice to know that Britney chose the final version.

I personally prefer the demo version but I 100% support the final version because Britney was the one who chose it. ❤️

I was interested to see if Elton ever spoke of her before, so I googled and this what i found:

Quote

But in a wide ranging attack, Sir Elton John said today's 'processed performers' such as Britney Spears lack the skill to perform live. And he dismissed the majority of contemporary pop hits as 'packaged crap' - while his songwriting is inspired by the likes of Bach and Beethoven.

He fell in my eyes. Very opportunistic of him to work with her now.

Did he actually say Britney's name or did the journalist just assume he was talking about Britney? Because when the only thing in quotes is "processed performers" it looks like Elton never actually mentioned any names. In the past he has actually praised her and said he'd like her in one of his music videos (after JT appeared in one and it was around the time they were dating).
