Thoughts on Everytime?

I remember when this song first came out like it was yesterday! It’s one of her most beautiful songs. Her vulnerability, the lyrics and her vocals are what always stood out to me! I also wonder how she felt having to perform it for all of her tours after all of these years 

The music video was also and still is so chilling for me to watch..

I remember watching this video as a child. At that time I only knew Britney as a singer, nothing about her personal life. I was born in 1997 so I was very young when Everytime came out and I knew nothing about anyone 

But I remember watching the video thinking that this woman must have suffered a lot and no one really cared about her since they all took photos of her. At that time I never understood the whole thing about the baby.

It's one of my favorite songs of all time

The first time i heard it was the live version on SNL and I thought it was absolutely dreamy and beautiful. Even my parents enjoyed the song when I played it in the car.

And regarding the mv, I somewhat knew the story, but my mom teared up when she first saw it from the greatest hits dvd.

The song came out when I was in early high school. At the time, I really liked the “every time I try to fly I faAalll” part because it was fun to sing. But the Remixes EP takes me to a whole other level because I love trance music and every track is deliciously atmospheric. It’s the perfect soundtrack for when I’m in a certain kind of mood. 

I’m obsessed with the adlibs that came through a few times during the Circus Tour, particularly the “yeaAah” after “please forgive me.” But I find it kind of ridiculous that it was ALWAYS lip synched during POM; the whole spectacle of her high up there with the angels wings is kind of silly when it’s all just to the album vocal track.

But in terms of overall quality, it really is one of her best songs artistically. Although, since it’s a full-on ballad and not a dance-pop banger, I don’t include it as an all-time favorite.

Also, the outfit she wears at the beginning of the music video is such an underrated look (lingerie dress, leather jacket, sunglasses, stiletto mules, that hair!)
