It does say in the video for what the award stands for. They had to read it.

Well they might as well rename the award then. I always thought it was just about the videos, pretty sure even the Wikipedia page for the award says that. Even better they could have given Nicki the Global Icon Award they gave Foo Fighters last year. I’m not necessarily complaining, just confused that’s all. Sorry for being a clown. 🤡

Yes the Video Vanguard Award was never only about the Music Videos, was about music videos, songs, nominations, perfomances, fashion and pop culture moments and Nicki don't have nothing on that.
