What album of Britney’s made you become a fan?

Recommended Posts

BLACKOUT entirely changed my life (building upon what My Prerogative started for me).

Before that, I just grew up with her during her career so she was inevitably part of the cultural lexicon. But I was really only paying attention to the singles.

Breathe On Me might actually be the first non-single that I was automatically into.

However, honestly, GLORY is the first album that I immediately fully committed to upon release. All the others I would preview first but then only listen to the songs I liked, and then rediscover other tracks that I had overlooked when I would become desperate for new/more Britney music.

Blackout hands down is one of the greatest albums ever made :yesplease_yas_agree_preach:

Def OIDA. I remember knowing her but the video for Oops and her VMA performance was just from another world to me… it amazes me till this day.

Same!  I was in denial until the Satisfaction/Oops! VMA performance.  And then I just went all in from there.

GH:MP.

I was like 10 years old and I saw the music video of BOMT on a local music station like MTV and I was obsessed with it. Soon after, we got our first internet connection and a new pc in our home and I literally googled "girl school dancing music video" and came accross its music video on Youtube. After replaying the same song over and over, I saw Toxic in the recommended list under her name as well. I clicked on it and for the rest of that day I played those 2 songs back and forth.

Now, ... My mother took me to a local groceries store and there were cd's for sale at the cash register and it just so happened that an eco-pack/digipack version of GH:MP was standing on a shelve and saw her name. I BEGGED my mom to buy it and she gave in.

Came home and listened to the album. I fluorised the songs I loved in pink and the ones I disliked in orange (Slave, MATM and Outrageous which I didn't like a single bit as a 10yr old).

I played that CD so much that it started skipping.

I still own that very first copy.

It's also how I found Overprotected which, since then, still is my favorite song by her.
