Marilyn Monroe’s Unforgettable “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” Dress has reportedly been ruined by tearing and missing crystals on the lower back area. It was last worn by Kim Kardashian at this year’s Met Gala causing it to stretch by Kim’s infamous large behind. 

Bob Mackie, designer who sketched famous Marilyn Monroe dress, says it was a 'big mistake' for Kim Kardashian to wear it. Do we see a lawsuit coming?  Here is the after photo

Because she was told she wouldn’t fit in it, but insisted on crash dieting and still ended up damaging a dress from an iconic dead woman with her big ***. It remained in tact since Marylins death. She’s extra and annoying. In 50 years there will be no iconic Kim Kardashian dress in any museum. She damaged a piece of history for vanity and attention.

Because this piece is considered to be part of our country's cultural heritage so conserving it in it's best condition would be the best way to ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy it and take in it's historical significance. Now that it has been damaged, it will need to be restored by professionals to recreate it's original form. It's not a big deal to some but if historians didn't make a big fuss about this type of thing, then a lot of the historical artifacts we enjoy today wouldn't be around.

Tbh I was disgusted she was even allowed to wear the dress. I’m still speechless.. the only and last person to wear that dress should’ve been Marilyn.

It's quite outrageous since it was pure whim. She ended up wearing the original dress for only a matter of minutes before changing into a similar dress. That dress was designed exclusively for Marilyn, her proportions, her skin tone and also, she was not wearing any underwear to give the impression of nudity, something that Kim and her team ignored... 

In fact, the fabric with which the dress was made, today I think is no longer used, therefore it would be impossible to restore this historical piece as it was originally.

The International Council of Museums has now banned celebrities from wearing clothing with historical value.
