so yesterday we had people complaining about her being oblivious to the situation, now wait for people to start complaining for her going political and talking about stuff artists shouldn't be talking about :oprah_well_there_you_have_it_proof_see_hand:

I personally don’t like when artists get involved in politics, sometimes they are misinformed or only support something because said political figure asked them to, and most of the time celebrities don’t suffer the same consequences we do, HOWEVER that shouldn’t be grounds to complain or hate Britney or any other celebrity. She is allowed to speak her mind and stand for what she believes in just like we do.

That’s correct.  Celebrities have a right to express their opinion just like me and you.  Good on our fave for using her voice tbh, definitely did not expect that. I hope she continues to so tbh:mhm_britney_nodding_yes_mhmm:

Hearing about another shooting is angering everyone,  even the basketball coach from the Warriors used his press conference to express his frustration with our government.  It’s such terrible news and it’s makes it worse to see people trying to argue that it’s “the persons problem and not the gun”.  It’s plain to see that guns are too easily accessible and people are too bat shhhhite crazy to own them.
It’s so sweet of Britney to acknowledge the tragedy since she has such a huge following.

There is something wrong with America and your sick love of military assault weapons. Go riot in the streets to have things changed! Otherwise this will never stop happening. The only country in the world that has this level of mass shootings

I totally agree, it's not like they live in a different planet or are immune to the world's issues (though some people really seem detached of reality)

Unfortunately there is a lot of fear in America right now... especially after Kyle Rittenhouse got away with shooting protestors dead in the streets of Wisconsin.

Britney is a Mum, what happened would have hit her hard. You always put your own children in the place of those died in your head. Waiting to find out of your child is one of those that died and then getting the worst news ever is the most heartbreaking thing I can imagine.

In Dunblane in the UK (in 1996) 16 young children (aged 5 and 6) and their teacher were killed during their gym lesson by a lone gunman. Stricter gun legislation was brought in very quickly as a result of this appalling tragedy. Consequently there has been no similar shooting incident in a school in the UK ever since and it has been 26 years. The solution to prevent these heartbreaking situations is not hard, and that is the awful thing. What "right" is worth an innocent, young life. I am sorry, I realise I am not American and it is different in the UK, but I just don't get it.

I hate that the USA WONT do anything. 10 years ago we had 20 first graders ********. And here we are again. This is me so damn hard because these kids were the same grade and age as my oldest. Schools shouldn’t be so easy to walk into either. And yet here a person with several guns was able to walk onto a school with police following him. And now all these families are suffering. Those that lost their children the most, those whose children witnessed their friends being ******** and fearing for their lives. The teacher that tried to keep the kids safe whos kids now don’t have their mom. But hey gun ownership is such an important right that it totally matters more than all these kids dying. And I already see the dumb***e$ that are calling it a hoax aimed for gun control. Gun control AND mental health reform NEED to happen should have happened a long time ago. Instead they just teach kids even in preschool how to hide and run if someone with a gun comes to class. In my area I can go to the store and walk out with a gun and ammunition same day. That is unacceptable. No one should be able to just head to a store and buy a gun so easily.

It is beyond my understanding why the law has not been changed yet in America ? I understand the 2nd or whatever amendments to have a gun but that law was created because  back then " Government " was " British" so the people did not want government to be  stronger than the people. That was 1700-1800. The gun law must change now. After Sally Hawkins incident, the world really thought America will change the gun law but nothing happened. This is devastating, esp as a parent, it makes me sad & scared of all the innocent  children/ kids/ people that were victims of some psycho just because Government cannot change the law. I do not understand American system but the people must outraged and change it. Its all about people. People make things happen. I am glad Britney spoke about it. It matters!

As atrocious as this is, I'm sad for the USA because nothing is going to change.

There's outrage for a couple of weeks and then people forget all about it until the next mass shooting in two months.

As long as you keep listening to the same minority parroting laws from the 1800s, you're doomed.

Literally nothing will change from this and it will happen again, we had like 300 school shooting this year alone and the year isn't even halfway over :tifftear_miss_ny_new_york_ms_crying_wipe_tears_sad: I'm just so glad I'm out of school and work from home, the chances of being shot in my own home are at least smaller than if I left the house

I struggle to get my head round the sheer volume of school shootings and shootings elsewhere in the USA every year. It literally leaves me lost for words. And every single time, it appears nothing is done to prevent the next. I don't get it.

Over 20 years ago there was a school shooting in a small town near me. Granted, it was the first of it's kind in the UK, but as a result laws were changed and it was the first and last of its kind.

It's sad though. At this rate, we're all going to be under the Republican Party's conservatorship. Reproductive rights... their decision. Safety... their decision. Who you marry... their decision. Being able to afford basic needs... good luck, they only care about the rich.
