Why did Britney never wear in ear monitors onstage?

Her piece of me pictures they’re skin tone. In the picture with the BOMT tour outfit we can’t see her other ear.

Obviously there was no point in having those if she was gonna lipsync.

 She doesn’t sing a lot live . You can see videos of Mariah for example yelling at her crew because her ear piece is acting up which in turn caused her to be off key due to the loud stage etc etc . When you 90% lip sync there rlly is no need to wear one 💁🏻

Anyone who performs on stage needs some kind of monitoring, unless it's a tiny venue. Dancers usually rely on monitor speakers directed towards the stage. Singers and musicians usually have in-ear monitors. Sound doesn't travel in an instant. So when there is a lot of reverb, timing and intonation can be way off.

In-ears are used for performers/musicians to hear count-ins and other cues so they can keep up with the songs. They can also hear themselves in them over the loud audiences. Britney used to wear them back in the day but probably stopped because she doesn't sing live so she doesn't need the directions. They prob just get in the way when you 100% lip-sync a show. 

You can see them here for Everytime during the Onyx Hotel Tour. She prob used them bc she was singing live for that song and supposedly playing the piano.

You can also see them during the HBO live event of the DWAD Tour. They often either fell out or she took them out and they were hanging from the chords, especially during Not A Girl and Slave.

I need to wear this when I sing cause I need to hear myself with clarity and with the band. If you dont hear yourself with everything that is going on on the stage, you gonna sound like you're trying to be bjork.

Britney last fully used them on the Crazy 2K tour. She chose not use them on Oops and opted from front stage monitors. She used in ears sporadically throughout the DWAD tour. Then finally for Everytime and Shadow on the Onyx Tour.

She chose stage monitors again on the circus, femme tale and Piece of me tours.

End of this video he says how Britney doesn’t use them.

It’s actually to hear her voice, the band and sound technicians.

Normally artists uses 2, Britney most of the time uses 1 (band and the people that guides her on stage) on her right ear. Why isn’t she using the left one? Ask her tour director 😂 probably coz she doesn’t need to hear her voice at all. Also some dancers uses then, within the band and background vocalists.

Very simple

Madonna has a crazy amount of counting, cues, something feeding her the first word from every phrase of the song and even chorography cues.

It's crazy she can follow all of these cues and still perform.

i guess its to hear the band to sing properly. when ure onstage you dont listen well to do band.
