Who would win the dance battle? Britney or JLo

Love how you assume nobody has a dance degree or has done college level dance. Even though I decided against a BFA in dance I was on the University of Minnesota dance team which is regarded as one of the best in the country. I have done competitive dance since I was young and competed In UDA Nationals. So don’t assume someone doesn’t know what they are talking about. You have no idea what someone’s experience is.
While Britney WAS a talented dancer at one time, JLo has remained and has actually perfected her skills year after year, and she’s in what? Her 50’s.

Did I discredit Jlo? And good if you have a degree quite happy for you, I know dancers as well actually and they have different opinions on this. I didn't even compare both actually like you did, I am like GP in terms of dancing so IDK much about dancing in general but I listen to what my dancers friends say and we also have to understand Brit's situation for 13 years in terms of her stage presence.

Talent never fades actually, I am a musician myself because there is no talent it's just skills mainly you being a dancer might get what you mean. Britney has dealt with a lot of stuff in general it's natural to understand how her dancing mainly her willingness hasn't been around but she did some good shows here and there. I have not even once doubted JLO I've watched her videos a lot.

I'm not a dance teacher/expert, so I can only go off what appeals to me visually.  I prefer watching Britney.  Simple things that I notice like even the movement of a hand, etc.  Even when I watch the originals do Slave or Hold it Against Me, while it could be better technically, Britney just has this movement about her that draws me in.

The mind usually can remember how to put the body in motion (maybe not in some cases mental illness and brain injury (but don’t quote me on that I don’t know that) mussel memory but the body ages and doesn’t work as well as it once did. So does that talent go away, no nothing can take from her, she’s proved her talent, but it doesn’t mean she’s still a dancer with good technique. It would not be unfair to say that Britney has had one of the shortest dance careers when comparing to other stars who dance. Her technique on stage from Opps-ITZ was her time, Circus behind the scenes she still had it but she’s not in it for the long run like JLo and Janet and Paula (still out there dancing with arthritis) is still out there dancing in their 50s. And yes there was that one video in 2018 that was cool but it wasn’t even a minute long and it wasn’t very hard choreography- it looked fun though. Britney when I’m her prime was one of the best but JLo started of super talented and had only gotten better.

I kinda don't agree to this, while I understand from what you are saying but as I said Britney has been forced to do things which she didn't wanted this also adds to the factor. As I said I have some dancer friends they are in this filed bdw, they have some different opinions on this. I have not even once denied JLO idk why you keep bringing her up but Britney also have had 2 major knee surgeries and lithium also didn't help of course. So the thing is that, idk what britney can do now but being a musician only makes me see one thing and that is practice and skills there is no such thing as talent when it comes to this.

I bring JLo up because the topic is comparing the two. Talent takes practice and skill, you would know that a musician can be talented but that talent is achieved by alllot of hard work. Everyone’s body ages differently she may still be able to bring it, there is other factors that come in to play, being heavily medicated but we don’t know until we see her dance outside of her living room.

There is no such thing as talent in music except ear training everything else is skills vocals aside. Let's see what britney does next if she does anything next.

I am not a musician, so my opinion is based on what I see, but you don’t think their are talented musicians?

No there aren't, I'm a guitarist and been studying music from ablur 16 years of my life except creativity there is no such thing as talent a total myth layman have created to feel good about themselves. People work damn hard to become better and better each day. Creativity is also very hyped up, people don't come up with great music from being born they come up with great music while listening to a lot of music and transcribing its an endless cycle hence I said dancing applies the same as music there is no talent except working hard.

Perhaps I’m misinterpreting your comment, I didn’t read the entire thread so forgive me if this is off topic but from my glance, what you are saying isn’t really true though.

Taste is subjective, ability and capability are not.  Some people are naturally very talented and work hard to advance their talent.  Others work harder, but that doesn’t mean everyone starts off at the same standing. For example, not everyone can reach specific notes, and for some people it is legitimately impossible for them to reach those notes or make those runs even with training. It’s like saying Heidi Montag is capable of becoming Mariah Carey with enough training and transcribing. It’s just not comparable hence the level of innate talent that often distinguishes the greats from the good. Some people can be born with the ability to reach other octaves, and of course refine it with training…. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that some people have more talent than others to begin with

100% true while I did say in my earlier comments about vocals while what you said about being natural is also true that's where in music ear comes into place, people like have developed ear I can now name the scale of any song in 5 seconds but then there are people like Charlie Puth who have an in born thing for this but with work I've achieved what Charli can do since beginning. Vocals are a total different realm and natural talent do come on for vocals but nothing else in this realm otherwise same goes for dancing while some have flexibility for dancing since birth but others can achieve it with hardwork the concept applies in every creative field actually. People overrate talent a lot to think they can't do themselves, but I'm telling you from experience you can do anything if you have the work for it.

Jlo is better these days but i have never enjoyed jlos performances or dsncing. I find it boring. Nothing special.

But brit has smth unique in her. Her dance moves make me more excited.

Britney in her prime years would beat anyone including jlo. Her equal would be janet jackson
