I love Britney but "Glory" is so boring

Recommended Posts

I absolutely love Glory and you have to think that it came after BJ and Pretty Girls, so the expectations were low... REALLY low.

Listening to it again, I feel like it has too many of those songs that aren't meant to be taken seriously. Like Private Show or What You Need

and fillers that didn't help like Better, Love Me Down or even Liar (yes I like it but let's face it)

Also, yes, britney doesn't care about charts anymore but lbr if glory had ONE hit song inside of it that album would be seen completely different by the fanbase and the public. It needed, imo, something like Selena's Hands To Myself and I bet a lot of people would speak differently about it.

The songs that stand out the more are the ones that were released, Make Me, DYWCO and Slumber Party. Mood Ring and Change Your Mind had opportunities too but not as 4rd or 5th single after 3 consecutive flops.

IMO, the tracklist should've been:

1. Invitation (Intro) Cut the song a little and make it a quick introduction to the album.

2. Make Me (ft. someone better than G eazy)

3. do you wanna come over?

4. Man On The Moon

5. Just Luv Me

6. Clumsy

7. Slumber Party (solo)

8. Just Like Me

9. Change Your Mind (ft. some spanish artist)

10. Coupure Electrique

11. Mood Ring

Plus, some hit the label should've gotten for her.

The rest of the tracks should be for a deluxe version minus Private Show which should've never existed.

You ain’t a true Britney fan if you haven’t really listened to what she’s putting down on Glory… Read between the lines and open your ears… Britney is a genius and if you can’t hear or see that on Glory then there’s no hope for you.

and when I say listen to it, I mean really listen to it. Maybe smoke a bl**t, that might help.

She’s one of the most intelligent musicians imo, Invitation isn’t about a ***ual lover, dive deeper into these songs and listen to them as if your in her shoes…

Youll be surprised when you wake up and hear this album is much more complex than you’re giving it credit for!
Britney disguises her songs as fun flirty **** songs, but that was her only way of passing these songs off to her team and label!

If you’re a true Britney fan, you will understand the complexity and creativity behind Glory, and that alone makes Glory head and shoulders above anything she’s ever released!

It's a more mature album with a more mature sound from a more mature Britney. It's OK if not all of you get it or even like it, but at least respect the rightful place it has in her astonishing discography.

You all laugh at "...Baby" now because it's her first album, and from 24 (!!) years ago, so it's never people's first choice as their favorite, but it did what it had to do, and it marks that stage in her life. I think we should analyse her work with that perspective in mind.

Having said all that, "Glory" is amazing and you're grounded, smacked and banned for the nerve!

Exactly its very experimental..britneys vocals meets random beats..vocals meets music..its authentic yet somewhat generi... experimental

97% of the time music is about the production for me. But with this album, I was impressed with Brittany but not with the production. When she was in control she was really good about making stuff that didn’t sound like anything else. It’s more urban, edgy, and mature. I want to hear more stuff like inside out or get naked. But obviously made today with today’s music technologies and its own way. Anything “Blackout 2.0” or a reinvented in the Zone, incorporating electronic sounds but not tacky **** like work *****.

I feel like Britney's personality comes out a lot on Glory! I feel like it reflects Britney now 100% the album is chill just like she is nowadays :mattafact_alligator_telling_talking_chatting_preaching_green: If y'all wanna shake your butts, there are other 7 albums filled with dance songs! :yaknow_britney_xfactor_X_factor_talk_tell_chat_you_know: I personally like it and not for her voice, sure she sounds great, but Glory is the album where she sounds more alive and involved since probably Blackout!

On Circus she sounds ok, but the album is rushed af and soulless :trash_throw_away_recycle:

Femme Fatale sounds like it was recorded by a robot and no I'm not mocking Britney, I'm mocking the unnecessary autotune that ruined that album! :umok_pursed_squint_well_okay:

Bearded Jacob is... well... :toodles_britney_sam_run_instagram_bye_goodbye_scared:

Glory was a breath of fresh air after the lackluster record that was Britney Jean and the overly commercialized record that was Femme Fatale. :kesha_sunglasses_pink_talking_telling:

On Glory, she sounded vocally confident and expressed a range of vocal capability and experimented with different sounds/influences. Femme Fatale and Britney Jean on the other hand… :kesha_sunglasses_pink_talking_telling:

I disagree that the album is boring but I do think they marketed it wrong. The re-released cover and tracks should have been what we got originally.

Songs like Mood Ring and SITS could have been singles imo. MM should never have been a single let alone the lead. Slumber Party was perfect and she didn’t need Tinashe. I feel bad it plummeted.

I loved the Glory era, however. It was just nice to see her promoting a lot especially in the UK. She seemed so alive in 2016 and looked fantastic.
