Amanda Bynes' conservatorship is officially terminated

Amanda Bynes' conservatorship has been terminated. 

 

The judge said “the conservatorship is no longer required” and that “grounds for establishment of a conservatorship of the person no longer exist.”

Amanda's mother, who was her conservator, was in support of this decision as well. 

Amanda's lawyer said  “we’re all excited and we’re all anxiously looking forward to Amanda living a life as a private and normal citizen.”

Oh this makes me happy! This is the best thread I've ever seen you start.

I don't know near enough about her situation  to have been as actively involved in advocating for her as I was Britney, but I don't belive conservatorships should exist at all and anyone who may benefit from a similar arrangement legitimately, I feel there are alternative supports to help them.

I hope Amanda gets the freedom she seeks and the life she deserves full of peace and good health

Because the poor girl has been neglected of the support she actually needed a long time ago and her mental health has deteriorated, not arguing with you btw it just saddens me when I think about Britney, Amanda, Nichelle, everyone subjected to this horrible system Amanda will be fine in time when this mess is over for her

I think the biggest thing is gonna be the capacity declaration, if that’s all good or the judge doesn’t require one then she should be free hopefully

Lou definitely wasn’t because if she was she would’ve made Amanda start working in film/tv after a few months of being placed in the conservatorship.

Didn’t the law change recently so that the conservatee can hire their own lawyers? Anyways, I’m so happy for her. I hope Britney lends a hand on some tupe of way if she so feels inclined.

I hope it did!!! But CONservatorships should be abolished as a whole; it’s basic legal slavery.
