I mean I'm all for more men hopping on this trend and breaking down the stereotype, but I  do wonder with some of these artists whether it's genuine or not. 

I mean I fully believe Harry Styles to be androgynous and bi .... It feels genuine, and I'm not dismantling it. But I  hope this doesn't becoming gimmicky, hip or trendy thing to do, you know? I'm starting to understand a little bit what Billy Porter was trying to get at last year, when he questioned the media's response to Style's Vogue shoot.

When we say “if it’s genuine,” are we looking at whether someone regularly wears dresses, is not straight, has a certain identity or gender expression, etc.? I think it’s OK for a straight guy who wouldn’t ever wear a dress again to give a try. It still shows that it’s okay, and people can try it out. I don’t think you have to be Harry and potentially bi and androgynous to break stereotypes.

It reminds me of how back in 2005 I’d hear people downplaying Paris Hilton’s charity donations as insincere. Regardless of her sincerity or potential lack thereof, aren’t the charities still getting the money?

Posty isn’t claiming anything about his gender expression or identity here. It’s a picture of him in a dress and not acting like that’s wrong for a man to try out or enjoy. I like it!
