Ok so who prescribed her with such a strong medicine. Was it really necessary. It should be investigated. We will hear more and more injustices she went through in the future.

Britney is truly so strong she could perform and function under that lithium. U guys questioning her actions on instagramm that medicine might changed her for life.

Lithium is not usually the first **** prescribed for bipolar. It's possible she was on Lamictal first, but for some reason (emotional "instability" after the conservatorship was extended?) it's possible that Jamie forced her to take lithium because he had experience with it and knew it would make her easier to control. And it did.

What's interesting to me is that there's no indication she was ever put on antipsychotics like Abilify or Seroquel, which are honestly much more widely prescribed for Bipolar I than lithium. Perhaps Jamie worried that the side effects related to movement (extra pyramidal symptoms) would compromise her ability to dance in the long run, so he probably pushed for lithium instead.

Love an educated post.

Anyways, I doubt Jamie had enough brain function to understand something beyond "gazillion dollars". Definitely there is someone more devious and a tad bit smarter behind this awful medical decisions.

In another line od thought, I remember people would go crazy with fans concerned with how drugged and absent she looked. If people, instead of getting offended, opened up to questions, things might have unraveled sooner.

what does lithium? I don't really understand it's use

does it make you more evanescence?

My understanding of it is that it is a **** that should only be used for severe mental health issues (i.e. not someone who is capable of going on a concert tour) and should only be used sparingly, as persistent use can have long term health implications. To say it appears to be miss-used in this instance is an understatement.

You described it much better and knowledgeably than I just did. The ethics of prescribing a **** for mental health issues so she could dance better, rather than what was best for her condition (if she even did have a mental health condition) is astounding, but I would not be surprised if this was the thought process.

Okay, but why are we still mentioning bipolar when we don’t know anything about her diagnosis or if she ever had one??? These ***** were forced on her.

I don't think it's too far off to speculate that she might be dealing with that. Sometimes she does seem a bit manic, although I personally feel that that is a normal thing people shouldn't be penalized for. At the same time, that diagnosis means relatively little in the sense that it can be applied to any number of different situations in which people are emotionally distressed due to outside pressures. But I would be willing to bet money that she was diagnosed with it.

Another thing to consider with Lithium is that is much easier to control someone on that medication because you have to go to your GP for regular blood work to check your lithium levels, since it can be toxic in high concentrations. So it's very difficult to get out taking the medicine compared to other medications for the same condition. I'd imagine this is one of the reasons Jamie likely begged her psych to put her on it.
