Scream tops Box office despite covid resurgence

The 2022 Version of Scream is actually already a huge success. 

 

It's on track by Friday to top the total domestic gross of 2011's Scream 4, which is still the lowest grossing one in the franchise..to date..

 

The film itself has divided fans (some would say they are being gaslighted) by the killers motive, a death of a beloved franchise character (they knew the one they off'd would be global mourning for Scream fans.

 

The new characters are very criticized as if they were only casted to be Killed off, cos outside two people and quite possibly Jasmin"s Mindy, none of the other new characters get a character development..

 

But despite that with 35 Million made in the MLK, ghostface sliced spiderman t0 number two. 

 

But Horror is a niche genre and it's not for everyone, as many hate being scared even with psychological horror, The whole playing on the emotion of fear is why horror audience is limited. 

 

 

But for a slasher film which scream is, but it's also very elevated horror as a film pointed out, it's whole self awareness sets itself apart from other slashers that there isn't a slasher like the scream franchise..

The whole it's always someone you know is what makes scream scary, the killer could be in your circle of friends and you would never know until they revealed who they are..

 

 

 

So congrats to scream, a franchise that was supposed to be dead. 

 

Cant wait for a new trilogy with Melissa B..
