:jl_jamie_lynn_awkward_cringe_eek: I feel like when the climate change crisis kills and displaces us all, all of the rich and elite will use their money to rocket ship themselves out of the planet like they did in Dont Look Up :crying4_britney_crying_stages_tears_sad:

I've said this in the other Katy topic that was made months ago, but that number doesn't make sense. If she's only doing 32 shows, she'd have to gross at least $5 million per show, which isn't realistic at all. For comparison's sake, Gaga's residency in Vegas was making on average $5 million every 3 shows, and even then her residency only grossed $66 million from 48 shows despite having practically 100% attendance.

You aren't going to tell me that every single one of Katy's 32 shows will sell out and gross $5 million each when her past two eras were complete flops and her last tour barely had 90% attendance from reported shows - i.e. she's got less demand than most other Vegas acts. Even if we're including merchandise sales, that $168 million figure looks more bloated than me after eating Taco Bell. :airpls_gaga_wheeze_eyes_wide_breathe_lady_lmao_lol_haha_hehe_omg_surprised_shocked:

Nobody is saying she's not making millions, it's just that the amount stated, taking into account the capacity, costs, etc doesn't make sense

I searched youtube and saw many videos and all I can say is... it looks like show for kids on *****.

Really...the props and movements are so cliché and childish. The remixes are mostly horrible (she really slaughtered Waking Up In Vegas), the stage and backdrops are boring and her outfits are a choice.

Production wise, this looks like her worst show ever.

She also sounds horrible but then again I walked out on her Prismatic show in my country cause she was that bad.

I'm not wanting to tear her down but I really find it hard to say something positive from what I have seen and heard. I mean...doing Whitney with her vocals? Girl...

If I had to say one positive thing, I'd say her setlist does cover nearly every single...oh and she does look great body and hair wise.

Definitely not a Vegas show I'd pay for to attend.

I agree with you on the slaughter of Waking up in Vegas. Always was a fav but not feeling her remixed version that sounds like a commercial jingle :katybelt_perry_witness_yelling_singing:

Make it make sense women has been signed up for 32 shows and this is going to give her 170M dollars forget Britney here even Celine Dion didn't make this kind where Katy residency had 7 months to fill in seats where 100% shows aren't getting filled with 4k capacity this means everyone has to pay upward of 1000 dollars which you know it's not true!

This headline is fake she will make max 10-15M dollars for thr whole 16 shows she is signed up for.

If it's true, then this would be a disaster..

Nobody asked for  a Katy Perry residency..

The idol contract was the beginning of people asking why is she getting this kind of money.

When I saw she has a person dresses as a terd singing California girls, I was like this is why she failed. She never grew out of that kid like stage where being obsessed with farts and other bodily functions was okay when you are 8.

The fact even my 30 year old roommate still does this is proof of why some people will forever be single cos they refuse to grow up and leave stuff that are made for children in the past.

Even in Reba when reba asked what does a six year old do with his friends, Kira said it best. Pop my snot bubble is exactly a great time between two boys of the same age, only to piss Reba off cos she had the audacity to call her brother and his friends as older siblings do. They was a 7 year age gap between the 3 kids..

Even older sister and van and their father was scared of 13 year old Kira stating she's the most judgmental kid..

Katy is literally the one that never grew out of her childhood.  I blame her parents it definitely seems that the strict religious upbringing had severe psychological damage, as they grew up in a world the parents deemed evil and satanic and had to actually learn that was actually a lie they were told.

I just went to the first night of her residency. I paid $1,100 for two seats in the 5th row.  I absolutely believe she is making this coin.  For people who don’t frequent Vegas often, let me explain:

Resorts World is a huge brand new property & casino on the part of the strip that doesn’t get much traffic, which they’re hoping to change. Most of the people up front with me were not major fans, and their tickets were comped. They were given to very high roller gamblers - a move by Resorts World to get a strong army of loyal gamblers frequenting the casino and Las Vegas often (the kind who will spend $100k+ in gambling over a single weekend).

And Vegas is much more than the cost of the show ticket. The two of us had a $250 dinner before the show at Resorts World. We spent $120 on 1.5 bottles of wine during the show. We spent $600 on hotel for two nights. We spent $150 on Uber rides. We spent another $250 on food, not associated with the concert. We spent $400 gambling. We spent $300 on flights from So Cal. We spent another $100 on random beers & joints while walking the strip.

We were in town on a Tuesday - Sunday, in a normal “slow week” of Vegas. If Katy wasn’t there, we’d have spent $0.

Residencies are used for much more than selling tickets. All the parties involved are making money from the tourism the show gets. And Vegas has a snazzy vibe, making you want to treat yo’self. It’s a cash making machine!!!

BTW Katy was super fun, but I thought it was disappointing. She needs to sing live more - it was mostly background tracks and lackluster dance moves. Considering it was her first night of her first residency, she seemed disinterested & like she didn’t want to be there. It was the fourth Katy Perry show I’ve seen, and I think it is her worst. I was disappointed that she had her turd friend sing California Gurls from inside a toilet - um, we came to hear Katy sing! And the remixes of her songs made them lose lots of their pizzaz. Most of the show is a bit medley consisting of one verse & two choruses of her big songs - so, other than about 4-5 songs, she doesn’t spend more than 90-120 seconds on each song. With all that said, we had a blast and it was fun. Just disappointing. I think Carrie Underwood set the bar too high for the new residencies at Resorts World; Katy did not meet it.
