It actually came out first as a Walmart bonus download track for In the Zone. So if anything, it’s really an In the Zone track before it was ever considered for the Greatest Hits.

No it was never intended for OD. It was recorded for ITZ just like Do Something and Chaotic were because ITZ was originally supposed to be a pop rock album like Britney was. If you think back, Britney was originally to be the soundtrack for Crossroads and 3rd album would've been ITZ.

Sorry but some of the info you are stating is wrong:

01. Do Somethin' was recorded in 2004, songwriter Angela Hunte confirmed this, so it was not for ITZ

02. ITZ was never meant to have a pop-rock feel

03. Britney album was never meant to be a soundtrack to Crossroads, in fact the Crossroads sountrack got merged into Britney. If not merged that would actually make ITZ the fifth album (considering how Mariah's Glitter is both an album and a soundtrack)

If anything, My Prerogative and Do Somethin' could've been for a follow-up to ITZ. Pretty sure OD inception was in 2005 as an answer to The *****cat Dolls.

Probs not. It was originally recorded for In the Zone and the song had already been featured on the In the Zone DVD bonus disc in Europe/Australia before GH:MP's release (and also as a Walmart download too). I don't think Original Doll would have any In the Zone outtakes.
