Is Jamie Spears Stupid?

He seems like he is your average stupid person. He abused and exploited his daughter tremendously, so the system definitely needs to change to not let the stupid among us be able to have control over anything. His recent press releases from his lawyer also show that Jamie is a complete embarrassment. I feel sorry for Britney having to listen to someone who brings nothing to the table.

Boy, that's a good question. I can't see that he has the skills to do all that with the money of his own accord. He has or had an alcohol problem. He doesn't seem very astute with money, he never managed to make a go of any of his businesses. Although that could have been the alcohol.

Britney's money attracted a lot of unscrupulous people that he was willing to work with, and maybe they were smart enough to let him think he was in charge. And he got lucky with a very unkind, unethical, and self-important judge, that is, Reva Goetz, who seems to have had some axe to grind about a smart, talented, beautiful young woman and mother. (And Britney got very, very unlucky.)

But I don't really know. I think it's a mistake to think he's stupid, but I can't see in there someone smart enough to pull off a 13-year con. I can't wait to read the book that explains all this.

No he is not stupid, he is a very wise elderly gentleman without addictions. He is a very intelligent guy who has taken care of his daughter's happiness for 14 years, he has taken care of her money for 14 years. Thanks to him and not forgetting Lou Britney's estate is less than it was 14 years ago. How can you say about him that he is stupid. It's just that the whole world and his daughter are trying to destroy his reputation, totally unfounded. I honestly wish I had as smart and intelligent a daddy as Jamie is.
Daddy love me like you love Britney!

Didn't Jamie also assault a child? Boy is he stupid. I think Jamie got help with the initial setup of the conservatorship, and then after that he could basically just be left to do anything he wanted, which is like giving a non-player character the keys to the realm - phew the court had a sick sense of humor. The type of rules and conditioning Jamie enforced was so nonsensical it was comical, and even seeing him floundering around in his latest public statements have just been hilarious. But it takes away all humor when you realize Britney had to deal with that for 13 years. The courts really have a lot of explaining to do for how badly they missed the mark.

It's the ones that look stupid and dumb that are the smartest ones. Trust me I know people like him. He's the type that has millions yet he goes to the local food bank to get his lunch. He probably has millions of Britney's money stashed up in a safe deposit somewhere. He's just putting on an act so  you can feel sorry for him even by throwing Britney under the bus. Plus he does everything to make you question whether or not he even has Britney's money. If that doesn't tell you what type of guy he is then I don't know what will. I mean he sold all of Britney's properties to get ever last dime that he could. He's smart.

Maybe. I agree that it's a mistake to assume he's stupid. And also that he's working some angle, living in a warehouse like he's broke. And he's been hard at it selling everything he can.

The really "smart" move would have been to stash everything he made, sell the properties and so on, and leave when Andrew Wallet did, and the way he did, getting immunity or whatever it was, and getting his bond back. He could even have petitioned to end the conservatorship. If he'd done it three or four years ago, they couldn't have done anything about it, wouldn't even have wanted to. They would even have called it a tremendous success of a conservatorship. Britney might have found out she was broke, but once the courts signed off on his bond, could anybody have done anything?

They got greedy, though, when she went on strike, and there might have been some panic because they lived like it was never going to end, and probably didn't put anything away (and I'm talking about Lou, too. Sending a $500,000 bill seemed desperate). So they started that idiotic attraction, and tried to bully her into going back to work, with the whole rehab fiasco.

I can see that he might be sitting on a fortune and pretending he's broke. But I can also see that he might have squandered a lot of it, and the people around him whose bills he paid made more out of it than he did.

This is exactly it! The fool Ingram would have allowed the bond to be released without a second thought a few years back. Jamie could have got away with it had he just given it up when Wallet went, but his greed, need for control and the fact he had probably (somehow) blown the money made so far made him cling on like a leach. So in relation to this he has been really stupid!
