Justin Timberlake has more to say to Britney Spears, following his public apology after the release of ‘Framing Britney Spears’ in February — when he took to Instagram to say that he was “deeply sorry” for the way he handled their messy split in 2002.

Justin Timberlake, 40, has been radio silent since his ex, Britney Spears, 39, was freed from the conservatorship that she was locked in for 13 years and he is apparently ready to break that silence — but not on Twitter, or on Instagram, like he did in the past. “Justin loves to see that Britney is now living the life that she wanted for so long. He loves seeing her embrace all the good that will come from her being out of this conservatorship. Justin would love to talk to Britney if Britney wanted to talk to him,” a source close to the “**** Back” singer told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY, adding, “But he also does not want to get in the way of the life she is seeking.”

On June 23, 2021, Britney spoke out about her former conservatorship for the first time in an explosive 23-minute testimony, in which she asked Los Angeles court Judge Brenda Penny to end her conservatorship, stating that it was “abusive” and that her father Jamie Spears, 69, should be sent to “jail” for his part in it. Following the testimony, Justin — who dated Britney for several years until they split in 2002 — took to Twitter to give his thoughts, saying, “After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time. Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right. No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body. Jess and I send our love, and our absolute support to Britney during this time. We hope the courts, and her family make this right and let her live however she wants to live.”

But this was not the first time that Justin gave his thoughts on his ex and their relationship. In February 2021, the documentary Framing Britney Spears was released, which shed light on the entire situation and exposed her father and his associates for their alleged wrongdoings. The documentary also took a swing at Justin for leaking that “Britney wasn’t a virgin” after their messy breakup in 2002. In an Instagram post, Justin wrote, “I’ve seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns and I want to respond. I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right. I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed.”

“Justin is very secure that Britney has heard his apology and he hopes that she knows that if she needed him in any way, he would gladly help out in any way that he could. Justin hasn’t reached out to her personally, yet,” the source said. “But again, he is not at all discouraged not to. It is just important for Justin is that he comes across as genuine because this is his true intentions. If Britney needs any type of talk, he is glad to do it and he is even more prone to do it behind closed doors,” the insider told HollywoodLife. “Justin wants whatever needs to be said and done kept private. He has her back from a far right now but that could easily change if and when Britney needs anything more.”

HollywoodLife reached out to a rep for Justin for comment, but we have not heard back yet.

Going on the basis that this is true, why are all of these people so interested in private apologies for their incredibly public actions? I mean let's be honest here, their breakup was a long time ago, but he was bad mouthing her right up until what 2018? When the made comments about Vegas Residencies after his commercial and critical flop of an album? 

Before that it was referring to Britney as "that *****" on his album release before that...

And even in 2007, he was dedicating songs about getting what you deserve to her, followed by covers of Rehab. That's nearly 20 years of constant media tactics.

 

I don't mean this to rehash old news, but between this isn't just age old feud, him and Xtina were children together, and contemporaries, and they made their business very public. Their public statements are saving face.

This is the right move. He's made some mistakes, and he's owning up to them. He's apologized publicly, and now he wants to apologize privately. That's the most he can do. Britney doesn't seem mad at him anymore and has mentioned him favorably in her IG posts, so this all seems great to me.

For years, people mocked Britney as a "puppet" who didn't write her own stuff, but now everyone is scared of statements that she's writing by herself that teams of celebrity PR professionals can't quite figure out how to navigate yet

People can say what they want about Britney, but if there is one thing I love from her is she does not act like someone she is not. People drag her for her clothing, hair, makeup, everything, but she keeps it real and I love that.

I must say, JT's PR team is crafty,

but if this is true, I think it's the right move for him to express that he cares about Britney.
As for Christina's case, considering Britney's feelings, I think she wanted people who have been with her at MMC since she was little and know how bad her parents were, to care about her.
And there are reports that JT and his mother were calling Britney a lot in 2007 to see how she was doing.
Plus, there was also a story in the past that Team Con may have prevented Britney and JT from communicating, which may be true considering the fact that Britney wanted to collaborate with JT in 2016 but never did.
They probably don't hate each other, so they've only got one life to live, and I think it would be good for them to talk

Is it bad that I only want this to be true so they can meet up again and realize they still love each other and so we can finally get rid of oatbiel and have the happy ending we never got? Then they have curly haired little baby girls.

At the very least so he can get inspired again musically because we all know she's his muse

But seriously all he can do at this point is apologize. She deserves a private apology she doesn't have to accept it. But I don't think she cares at this point tbh. I dont think he's a monster that some like to make him out to be but he also has to live with what he has done. He has that stigma around him that some may never forgive him for and he has only himself to  blame. His best option is to just keep living the way he says he is going to. Hopefully he has learned by his mistakes and fixes his future choices.

It is what it is the people who hate him will still continue to do so and the ones that support him will as well. 

As a fan of both I have unresolved feelings because I never got closure with *Nsync and I never got closure with their relationship
