the thing is, besides those Xtina fans / trolls, I haven't seen anyone "crucifying" Britney.

 

No one is questioning her freedom to speak, or her freedom to feel one way or another about what people say or don't say, because only Britney knows the full story or how she perceives things because she's the one in that situation, or the one that knows what's up between her and Christina behind the scenes.

Applauding Britney for speaking and supporting her having a voice is one thing, that doesn't remove that people still can see things differently than Britney and point out that she perhaps might be wrong or misunderstanding something, or just not seeing the full picture. And not wrong in a "you're on her side or you're against her" kind of way, but you know, Britney can also make mistakes, and she has the freedom to make mistakes, and people have the right to point them out too, and that's not necessarily in a negative vibe.

For starters, in my personal case for example, I've always hated when people say that not speaking equals to telling a lie. Not speaking, is not speaking, telling a lie is telling a lie, and both have very different reasons and very different consequences. Telling the truth, telling a lie, or not speaking, all can have bad results or good results depending on the context, the timing, etc, but that's another topic.

The point is, disagreeing with Britney DOES NOT EQUAL to wanting to silence her or whatever. Disagreeing with Britney means disagreeing with Britney, nothing else. No one is silencing her, no one is crucifying her, at least no one with a bit of common sense. It's like when she called out the documentaries, since everyone loved the documentaries then oh no, Britney can't be against them, then is someone else posting on her Instagram, or she may be talking only about the CNN because it's the crappy one. But since it's always been easier to hate on Xtina, then this time oh yes, it IS her speaking, let's support her blindly and trash Christina too.

 

Not everything is black or white. In this case, I understand Britney, well, actually I don't understand because I still can't see what she's seeing, because she didn't elaborate, but I respect that if she feels bad for what Christina did or didn't do, she spoke up and expressed her mind. Good for her, there's many other things I'd like to hear her talk about. But particularly in this case, I don't think the situation deserved this kind of public roast, as mean as Christina has been in the past, or as hypocrite she may come across, when you watch the entire interview, this particular event didn't really seem as shady or anything. But that's how I see it, and how a lot of other people see it too. And that's fine too. Everyone sees things differently, and at the end of the day the only thing that matters is what Britney and Christina may think about this.

Yes. Thats exactly what it is. Its not just Christina who is a coward but its a lot celebrities out there who are happy she's free but "can't" talk about Britneys situation out of fear that they will offend bad actors and become a target themselves. Lou Taylor manages a lot of individual artists but she also manages a lot companies and firms that oversee other artists and organizations. Remember it also took judges and other powerful people to keep Britney in this situation for 13 years.  I'm sure some politicians in California were happy to see the streets cleared of the dangerous paparazzi mobs that followed Britney throughout California.

Alright, I need to get SOME of y'all together real quick. Some of you are reaching and making excuses when you just need to admit that Britney screwed up. Admitting she screwed up does not invalidate your stan card. Britney screwed up with that X-Tina IG story, OK? Acting like a KAREN in 2021 is not a good look, and you all should know that by now.

FULL DISCLOSURE - I'm an X-Tina stan who only begrudgingly liked Britney back in the late 90s/early 2000s. My respect and appreciation for how iconic she and her music is has grown enormously since then and of course I was so glad when she finally spoke out about the evil conservatorship.  I was so happy that she was able to emancipate herself. I joined this forum because I loved X-Tina's statement of support back in June and I wanted to see how you all as Britney fans were reacting to it.  I read so many wonderful things on this forum, and it truly felt like the Britney/X-Tina feud was a thing of the past. I'm in my late 30s now but the little gay boy inside me had wild hopes that Christina and Britney would come together for an amazing "Boy is Mine" style duet that would blow up the charts or at least make an appearance at an awards show like they did back in the day for the VMAs and generate lots of fun, positive headlines.

Britney just stomped on all of those hopes, and frankly, if y'all have been paying attention, I think X-Tina's hopes too. She's hinted in many recent interviews about wanting to reconnect with Britney (go watch her Andy Cohen radio interviews). She's been trying to squash this "beef" for years!

Now just to show you that I'm a real one, Christina did unfairly make a few *****y comments about Britney back in the day. SHE  SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT. She was clearly insecure about the relentless Britney/X-Tina comparisons and her place in the music industry. But as many of you have acknowledged (which I appreciate), she has clearly changed in the last several years. Starting a family and a few flop albums will do that to you.  She has said nothing but nice and respectful things about Britney for the last decade. The statement in June (of course she had help crafting it, THIS IS HOLLYWOOD) was really good, and many of you acknowledged that. It showed deep compassion for Britney's situation yet didn't try to create the impression that she and Britney were close buddies who were still in touch.

X-Tina has a career to rebuild too, folks.  She was attending the Latin Grammys to perform her new song and promote her new Spanish album. She was on a high-stress, hectic red carpet.  During the interview which prompted this ridiculous, mean-spirited response from Britney, Christina's publicist already gave the signal that the interview was over because they had to get inside the auditorium BEFORE some stupid journalist blurted out the in-my-humble opinion inappropriate Britney question. With the few seconds Christina had, she still managed to say something nice about Britney - "I'm happy for her." AND Y'ALL ARE OUT HERE TRYING TO PSYCHOANAYZE AND READ INTO TWO SECONDS OF AWKWARD FACIAL EXPRESSIONS?! How about you listen to the actual nice words coming out of Christina's mouth, and put those words in context with the nice words that Christina has been saying about Britney for the past decade and her tweet essay of support from last June?

Look, despite the fact that Britney is punching down on the less-popular, less iconic Christina (see, I told you was going to keep it real), I still have a lot of love for her. Despite the fact that she coupled her self-absorbed rant by comparing Christina's awkward red-carpet moment with Gaga's (another pop queen who Christina had to suffer through unfairly being compared to) and the bizarre "HAPPY BIRTHDAY FAUSTO" moment, I still have plenty of time for Britney. I want new bops, new music videos...I want to see her do well.

She's obviously in a sensitive place right now, and she has a lot of goodwill left among the general public, but she needs to be careful. My guess is that there is some catty queen on her media team who thinks it's a clever strategy to send Britney out-of-context Christina clips so that Britney can lash out and generate media clicks? Or maybe Britney is spending too much time of fansites and forums? Whatever it is, she needs to take a moment and just chill.

Sorry, I said I would be quick but this turned into an essay. Drag me if you want, ignore me if you want, engage with me if you want, but I kept it 100% real. And I actually do wish Britney nothing but the best.

I feel bad for Christina! She's actually one of the few celebrities that I believe genuinely cares about Britney.

Yes, they used to be rivals and Christina had a nasty attitude but deep down inside I believe that she always wanted to be Britney's friend. I think it will hurt seeing Britney thank Gaga who is one of the most opportunistic celebrities there is. A gimmick and someone who's just looking out to make herself a legend and will do anything to reach that status.
