Kanye's a egomaniac, but am I supposed to feel bad for Taylor? Are we forgetting that Taylor basically did the same thing by releasing like a dozen different versions of Willow and discounting it until it was like 39 cents in an attempt to get the #1 spot and block AIWFCIY?  All mainstream artists like to use desperate gimmicks. It's nothing new.

Taylor just beat her own record for biggest streaming debut from a female artists. 

 

Unless it's breaking huge records, the lack of physical sales comes as a defensive measure to avoid criticism because only certain acts can sell physical albums.
