Ew. First off, Britney has NEVER had a good relationship with Jamie and was never close to him. Britney was close with Lynne for most of her life until she got older and then started to see Lynne for who she truly was. But Jamie is just as evil, and both of them need to be cut out of her life. The man is abusive trash. Britney bought her MOTHER Serenity, not Jamie. She was sweet enough to buy the childhood home and let him continue to live there for free.

Nobody can dispute how desperate this family, especially her mother would have been to get Britney the help she needed back in 2007/08, it was BAD. As a fan I vividly remember  waking up on a daily basis wondering if I was about to log onto BH to find something terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE had happened. At that point I’m sure Lynne would have taken any advice on how to get her daughter out of this, and that is where I believe LOU TAYLOR and others came on to groom the family into this. After all, if a temp con had worked, sorted her personal/ family life out and got her back on top of the world professionally, Lynne could have been at peace  knowing her daughter was happy doing what she loved, and could sit pretty at Serenity either way. 

Probably not a popular opinion here, but I’ve been in the fandom since day one, I’ve seen it all in real time and can’t help how I feel.  I know Britney is very angry with all of her family at the moment and probably even more so with her mother since above all they are the ones who are meant to protect us most, but I know when you’re angry you can just focus on one aspect and everything else can become skewed.

Nah this is a great response. We don't really want to encourage animosity between her and her own parents tbh. It's not healthy for Britney to have hate towards the closest people on earth to her. These relationships need to mend and heal for the sake of Britney's mental health,too.

I understand this. However, she let this go on for 13 years when it should have ended in 2009 atleast. When she did For The Record, she was clearly back to herself and doing much better. She had a moment of weakness because she was upset over the custody, Kevin, etc. but she was back to herself fairly quickly. Lynne could have fought to have it ended then and I guarantee Britney would not be hating her mother. Insteasd, Lynne decided that the money and the "family business" was too good and she loved the control just as much as Jamie. They all failed her and did more damage to her than anything in 2007. 

Now personally I don't believe a conservatorship should have EVER happened. All Britney needed was for her family to be there and give a damn. All they had to do was give her love, help her get custody back of those boys, etc. but instead they ABANDONED HER. They saw a chance to get control and they took it. Britney's problems at the time were NEVER what a conservatorship was for. Ever.

That is not true AT ALL.

People have to cut out their parents out of there life all the time. What Britney's parents did to her is unforgivable. That is not love. They wanted to control her, and steal her money. Even her own sister and brother. There are plenty of celebrities (like Mariah) who have had to cut out their families from their life because they are not good for them. The fact that you are even suggesting for Britney to forgive these people is disgusting.

My parents were narcissists and put me through hell. I cut them out of my life and my life has been better. Britney deserves the best life, and not to give these leeches anymore time. They do not deserve her.

Yeah I agree. My point was really based on Britney’s anger that Lynne suggested the con in the first place, which I get, but still believe she thought it would be for the best AT THE TIME. Especially with outside influences like LT in her ear.

 

She should have spoken up much sooner to get this stopped.

A person shouldn't have to be around anybody that hurts them. I don't care if we're talking parents, siblings, grandparents, spouse, friends, etc. Going back for more is giving yourself away. I did that time and time again. "Being the bigger person." "Treat people the way you want to be treated.", "Keep extending that olive branch." I'm not gonna sit here and use popcorn gifs of the drama going on in Britney's life. There's gotta be so many emotions running through her head ranging from anger to sadness. It's not easy to cut somebody out but for your own sanity, you don't really have a choice. What has been done to Britney...imo that bridge can't be rebuilt. Stabbed in the back and betrayed on this deep of a level. What happens next time if forgiveness is sprinkled through the air like glitter? Sometimes the damage has been done and the people that have done the damage will need to live with it.

Moreover, her mother not only abandoned her, but also she and James actively helped Kevin get full custody of the children. Many people forget this fact when they try to justify Lynne, using bs excuses like 'remember how we were afraid to wake up and read the terrible news', when by now we should have understood already what a strong defamatory PR campaign in the media was against Britney.
