It’s the egotistical business men that couldn’t stand that a WOMAN let alone younger than them is smarter. Look at Larry, seeing him on FTR and how over the years she’s butted heads with him and her label.

Oh yeah it’s fully the dirty patriarchy at work. God forbid that a beautiful kind-hearted young woman became the most successful artist of her generation. Men needed to get their dirty claws on her money and autonomy. Independent women are a threat to the status quo.

We can’t have the public wake up to the reality that women are equally accomplished now can we?

This breaks my heart. I hope they can have a reconciliation after this, IF Britney wants to and if Lynne does meaningful work to show she can be trusted.

I obviously haven’t been in a situation anywhere near Britney’s, but I do know that often if there’s one unkind or abusive parent, the child will put the other parent on a pedestal basically just for not being the other parent. Kids see things in a very black and white way, so it’s easy to create the roles of “good parent” and “bad parent” in their heads. I wonder if some of this happened in Britney’s family.

I have seen multiple interviews around this time where Britney tears up at the mere mention of her mother..a lot to unpack, tbh

Even though there was a giant marketing company behind it, Britney agreed with the way it was being sold. She says it verbatim in the crazy making of video, when she says "we're going to be a dorky waitress" and that was his idea. She did have a sales strategy for herself, the problem is that later the control of that image got out of her hands.

I wish her relationship with her mom had been easier and she had had that long romance with Justin, or someone else for that matter, but she really saw that happening with him... She deserved all that and so much more, life isn't fair sometimes.
