Britney is reportedly writing new music: the songs she has been writing are dark and comparable to 'Blackout'

Blackout 2?! While the media and fans are speculating if and how Britney should return to music, Britney could very well have already started working on something. There's buzz she's been writing new music for the past several years. 

A supposed industry insider tells Hollywood Life the writing is dark and cut from the same cloth as 2007's Blackout.

“Despite what is being put out there, Britney is not retired. It is actually quite the opposite. She has been writing music over the past couple of years because it would be impossible for her not to. Music is her passion and it is in her blood,” the insider said.

“Those close to Britney are all aware of this and she has been getting offers from some of the top producers in the industry. Everyone is dying to work with her."

They add: “The songs she has been writing are dark, for the most part. She is comparing her new music to her [2007 album] Blackout, which everyone absolutely loved.”

“Britney wants all of this behind her because she wants to be able to be the sole person behind any music she creates if she chooses to do so. She loves music but she felt way too controlled to do it. She would love to go back to music and she has been writing.”

It comes off like fan fiction, but my heart wants to believe this. The art of making music could be very therapeutic for Britney. And my God does she have a lot to get off her chest.

Tea, but nothing we don’t already know or have threads speculating about. I hope they she’s got the bug to make new music and art but I really want her to enjoy her life, whatever that means to her. I’m sure music is a big part of her life, and I’m glad that she’s been enjoying her own music lately. That’s very cool.

I'm sure she's been playing around with music ever since the cship drama began bc it's probably the one thing that distracts her. I'm sure being creative during this stressful time helps her to relax, But I doubt she's going to release an album any time soon

We know that our girl is talented at writing and playing the piano. I'd be surprised if that's something she hasn't been doing often. It's sad that in the past many of the songs she wrote didn't make the cut etc. 

Didn't she write a ton of songs for FF but only Scary made the cut as a "bonus track"

We are in a time when I dont believe anything if doesnt come straight from her or her lawyer, regardless if it's too good or too bad. 

Lets focus on freeing her asap and make her abusers pay with jail instead, making music and performing, as from now, is and will be only up to her. No one else.

If she decided to release new music - it’s gonna be out of this world because it comes from her heart. She managed to release Glory under the cship. Now with the cship (soon to be) gone, couldn’t imagine how incredible it would be.

and we know she has always loved making music and performing. it’s just that she couldn’t go her directions with team con, thus the scrapped MM, Perfume, Glory cover.

Blackout 2.0 would be perfect. She didn’t really promote or tour Blackout, so who says she can’t just release an album and still relax, enjoy her freedom, start a family, etc etc

Here's the thing. Do I believe this insider? No, probably not. Has Britney been writing her songs? I definitely believe she has been writing during this whole time. She's a performer after all. Are they dark? Most definitely. I do believe (the feeling in my gut) she will release something within the next year especially with the conservatorship ending. Promotion/Tour? Hell no! She will focus on marriage/baby, yes! She'll make her return to music within a couple years.

As much as I love my Pop Princess mega performer Britney, the amount of anger and passion she briefly displays in her IG posts make me want her to release an angsty " Alanis Morissette- Jagged Little Pill" type album. Where her lyrics are her truth and just raw vocals. I wouldn't even mind if she didn't tour, but I miss the passion Britney gave in her music.

Well, she' s an artists why would she ever stop writing in the first place? This is a Hollywood life article I don't know what to think on this at all, sooner or later Britney will definitely address the things we all would like to know but I am sure sooner or later Britney will return to music.

Also, between this, the Page Six article about Britney being unhappy that people (@Larry) are saying she's retiring, and her metaphoric ig post ending saying she'll leave to the imagination what she'll do when she crosses over... feels like there's an interest in putting out retirement rumours.
