How did fans know something was wrong after Domination got cancelled?

This is the one thing I've never understood! How did you guys pick something was up back then? I remember being sad for her about her dad supposedly being sick! Little did I know

But wouldn't the absence go in line with her caring for her dad?

Cuz sis was last seen in a drive thru n was missing for 2/3 months...

But something was brewing during the tour she was forced to go on, behind the scenes drama that fans witness and her nervous ticks on stage.

Its like they thought that they could kidnap Britney and just go about living their everyday lives without people asking them where she was.

We were used to things in her career being sloppy (Glory was a massive 180) and everything about her felt different since 2008. The Domination announcement was just another mess. They live streamed it and fans waited for idk maybe close to an hour just for her to pop up and be dragged away in five minutes. No speech, no performance, nothing but an awkward Britney after they didn’t give her a mic and a forced smile as security hustled her into the car. They wouldn’t even let her sign autographs while attempting. Not to mention that we all accepted Vegas at that point but POM had so many cringe moments that Domination in itself felt rushed. They made a true joke of her brand over the years. Lots of fans gave up sadly. Exhale used to have A LOT more traffic but after her Vegas announcement (another failed announcement) fans were dropping like flies. This has been a developing story that literally took 13 years to crack and only got worse over time. Domination was just the cherry on top of many odd situations that never felt right. This story is tooooo long to make it short lol.

Britney’s career is filled with rumours and conspiracies that I kinda learned not to give things in the Britney world much thought, so I would only pay attention to facts and stay out of fan speculation (for the most part lol). And it’s crazy cause a few fans actually knew something was wrong the moment(!!!) Domination was cancelled, while the majority only started getting worried in the weeks and months after the cancellation, meanwhile other fans like me and you didn’t even bat an eye. Little did we know indeed

I was here and I remember it well. Her appearance at the Domination announcement was really unusual, and then suddenly it's cancelled and this lame excuse about her dad was the official excuse. However, at the same time it was reported that she had voluntarily checked into a mental health facility. Quite frankly, after over a decade, nobody really believed the veracity of this being necessary without further proof. Then, fans began to wonder because something just felt alarmingly off. "Me time :)" appeared on her instagram and fans really began to worry. It felt like someone was posing as her, but trying to fool us. After a period of time of fans vocalizing their concern, Britney posts a video on Instagram where she says she is okay, but the CAPTION was not written by her at all!!! The caption was pretending to be her and even acting like it was her writing it, but it obviously was not, and the recorded video that went along with the caption made it clear that Britney had no idea what her own caption was going to say. The caption defended Louise Taylor and some emails, which was extremely unusual because Britney never had mentioned that woman before and would definitely not try and defend her, ever. It was very clear someone was controlling her but trying to pretend like that wasn't happening.

Keep in mind, fans had been reading the court documents for years and were aware that Britney had been fighting the conservatorship, she just wasn't being listened to. This is why when the usual suspects started showing up, there was just this sinking feeling.

Somewhere in there, the Britneysgram podcast revealed that Britney was being held against her will.

There was another instagram post where the caption said, "This is a video from yesterday!" and a fan revealed it was actually an alternate take from like a whole year prior (Which is where the constant "joke" comes from, "I took this yesterday! I took this last week!" but it became a joke because of this incident being real)

Fans started to get individually sued by Louise Taylor and Jamie Spears, lawsuits were being thrown at individual fans for a TWEET, or a POST ON EXHALE!!! for merely saying that they thought Jamie was behind this, or Lou. (I think Jordan got a few, I know Anthony was permanently banned from even talking about Britney from a Jamie lawsuit, and the list goes on). They were obviously monitoring the fanbase and trying to quieten the fans. But just like anyone could have anticipated (except for those bozos), it only made us want to fight them more.

So after all of this, almost as if to try and quiet down the fans, they started to allow Britney to post every day on Instagram. Her posts were sort of cryptic, and Tik Tok picked up on it and the free Britney movement took OFF online (Miley and some other celebrities also helped push it).

Then, the documentary. Then, Britney's testimony.

And the rest is history

We’ve known something was wrong since For the Record. If you didn’t pick up on her palpable sadness through Femme Fatale, XFactor, or BJ, then idk what to tell you. Also, her fans are well aware of Jamie’s storied history of alcoholism, incompetence, and abuse, so I don’t recall anyone being terribly concerned about him or his health. Some were more respectful about it than others but we were all thinking the same thing.. 

The respect and adoration Brits fans have for her does not (and never has) extended to her criminal family.

Yeah also this. The 2018 Europe POM tour was a mess behind the scenes and we all knew a lil’ something something was wrong. I know for a fact Britney had an argument behind the scenes and threw a water bottle at one of her security guards during M&G because my friend (fan) was there lmao, never seen this rumour but there you go. We all also thought a new residency so quick was odd but with like everything else in Britney’s world I just assumed her team would sweep it under the rug and she would start the next era like nothing happened like they always did.

THIS. You nailed it in one sentence. For years I wondered what would Primeney think of the Britney from 2008 to the present? 

 

I remember back in 2019, we started making fun of her absence in social media and paparazzi pics. This fanbase has always dealt drama and issues in general with good and great sense of humor, so I remember posting #WhereIsBritneySpears as a funny way to kinda say she hadnt been seen in a while. Little did we know what was all behind.

Well maybe we should all remember the mess it was during the European leg of the tour and the end of that Vegas Piece of me tour version, fans were so upset at how weird the situation was. I've never seen so much anger among the fan community. After the spanish girl spoke out about the meet and greed and with everything that was going on people, and fans, started to belivee for the first time she probably needed to stop. 

So we have to remember that when they announced Domination fans were NOT happy at all. It was highly rejected here...so then, when she disappeared for months we started thinking something was wrong. The whole vibe of the past 6 or 10 monts was bad. And then we decided we needed to know and talked about it everyday...then the voicemail appeared, the rest is History.
