Did Lou Taylor pay the media to write negative reviews about Netflix's new doc 'Britney Vs Spears?'

I was pretty sus when I saw a few outlets characterize Britney Vs Spears as trashy, schlocky, tasteless, exploitative, boring and a waste of everyones' time, among other descriptors (see below).

I know I am biased because I am in it, but how on Earth is the doc trashy or irresponsible? 

Then this popped up on my radar...  Make of it what you will. I have no opinion on it at the moment other than I find it interesting. Because I know LT is a frequent flier here, I'll do her the solid and say this is an unconfirmed rumor.

Yea I just find the pushback weird with this doc when no one batted an eye when Vivian was on FBS. And btw I loved FBS so it's no shade to that doc - it's more so me being confused by these freaking harsh reviews. Maybe they do have some points, but IDK they came out so fast and were venomous from the get

I just finished it.  It was very well done.  They didn’t show her shaving her head.  They didn’t show her on the gurney being loaded into an ambulance, they simply discussed some of the stuff she went through, which is important when understanding HOW Jamie and Lou were able to sink their claws into her.  The message was powerful…I still get chills when I hear her testimony.  The ending was a beautiful tribute to Britney’s legacy and her greatness…

to say it’s a “waste of everyone’s time”?  How is watching a documentary, designed to educate people about corruption and guardianship abuse…a documentary about shedding light on the abuse of someone who has had their civil rights and liberties stripped from them for over 13 years a WASTE of anyone’s time?  These women had passion in their work…because they love and admire Britney…and I’m sorry but there is only one tone to this story…and that’s that Britney Spears has been abused and exploited for the financial gain of everyone around her.  She does NOT meet the standard for a conservatorship.  Lou Taylor can choke on a fat one…and why does her buying headlines to trash this not surprise me one bit?  🙄

I agree with this. IMO it was in poor taste to even bring Sam in for an interview. His obsession with Britney hasn’t ended and it’s a little uncomfortable. I also found the focus on the men in her life kinda gross. 
 

..but there was nothing trashy or awful about it. It was very informative.

Yeah it's kind of strange how harsh that one is being criticized vs. the many other docs that are out there.  It was a little janky but I wouldn't say more exploitive than any of the others and certainly not the CNN or BBC.

 

Why this one??

Jordan, I have to admit that this is really possible.

I was not excited about the doc after I read the headlines, but at the same time I found very strange the kind of words and ratings they use to review the doc.

Even Britney Ever After got better reviews.

But after I watched, I got really emotional finding out new stuffs, and also getting a bigger picture of what was like for Britney herself battling during the years. She is a fighter and it shows!

The NYT didn’t got that deep in my opinion, but both of the docs are so important than the Netflix one. And if you put all of them together you do need of each one of them to understand the situation Britney is living and how cruel it is.

Jordan, I also would like to take the opportunity to say that I really appreciate everything you done for her and your role on the doc. I am a fan since 2001 and I used to cover the news for the biggest Brazilian website at the time. I found a lot of stuff and it was a hard time. So I can relate a lot with you but at the same time can’t even imagine how harder it was for you.

Im just sad that with everything is going, maybe both of the docs will not get the expose they should have.

It wouldn't surprise me since Lou is allegedly evil enough to do whatever it takes to keep the conservatorship in place.

I had a weird feeling about the reviews and tbh, I felt something was up... this makes a lot of sense.

Yes, this crazy *****, This was not my favorite doc but it wasn't any of the words described by those "articles"

Trashy and tasteless are very specific one could say they describe Lou herself in my humble opinion. 

But if this turns out to be true it won't go over well knowing these specific publications can be bought. They would lose all credibility so that must of been some hefty check for them to take that chance. Ironically she's probably still using britneys money. I wouldn't be surprised though she can't sue everyone.

If she doesn't get arrested and charged I hope at the very least her most famous clients drop her.

I wish whoever is behind this an OUNCE of luck trying to clear their name.  Be careful spending money…restitution may be looming  (allegedly for entertainment purposes only - not naming names or accusing anyone of anything) 

 

And paying for reviews (whether they’re negative or positive) still brings attention to the doc which ultimately means more viewers. So really whoever MAY be behind this is only keeping it at #1 on Netflix

I liked them having more of a focus on Lou. I just wish it had been longer, so they could have had people talk about stuff AFTER Britney’s hearing.

As with many others, Felicia seemed to be far more reserved here, and I don’t think that would’ve been the case if she had been part of the doc AFTER Britney’s testimony.

I also hated them giving time to Lutfi. Something about him besides all that we’ve witnessed doesn’t sit right.

Something isn't right, you may be on to something as I am actually very neutral to these things and in my opinion the Netflix doc was not he money like the NYT was. She will be exposed and will not get away so easily..
