“Slumber Party” is a pop masterpiece and was absolutely slept on by the general public

I don’t know who needs to hear this but Slumber Party is such a killer pop song and one of the best of her entire career. She honestly snapped so hard, like what the actual **** I’m scalped.   Like I actually sometimes forget how much of an incredible song it considering I rarely listen to Glory and was never really a fan of the album. By far, the absolute highlight from that era. The production is fresh, her vocals are A1. The song is honestly such a vibe. It’s no wonder they chose it as a single.It also has this Summer/Fall 2016 feeling and vibe to it that I can’t explain.  Had the rollout been more professional and featured someone like Rihanna instead of Tinashe (given that Rihanna is obviously the bigger superstar and 2016 was her year), I guarantee it would have been at least a Top 10 hit.  For now, let’s just appreciate what a perfect pop song it is and how the general public (and even some fans) truly slept on this masterpiece.   And yes I’m attaching the OG version because it’s obviously the superior version (love Tinashe regardless). 

Even if she decides to retire, at least she ended it with a bang.

I’ll never forget the hype surrounding its release. If I’m not mistaken, the video was released on the night of the 2016 election where Trump was announced president. I’ll never forget how panicked literally everyone was awaiting results, including myself, but it was also exciting to know that a Britney video was coming out that same day.  Also I don’t know if anyone remembers this but the Chantaje video by Shakira was also released on YouTube that same day and at one point, Slumber Party was surpassing it in terms of views. Meanwhile, Chantaje is now sitting at 2.6 billion views whereas Slumber Party is stalling to reach a 100 million.  What a time though. Suddenly I miss 2016.

Does anyone else remember how the original audio for the music video was different from the current version AND the Britney solo version. It was like a mix. But then the audio was replaced over the music video with the album collaboration version ft. Tinashe. That's why at the start of the video, the music kind of abruptly starts. It was more of a fade into the music with the background noise / car noise mixed in as the song started  from what I remember with the original audio. Anyone else remember?

It really was. It deserved so much better. I remember when I first got my Glory CD I hadn’t listened to any of the leaks and SP was a massive stand out.
