If a company owns an idea and there are no rivals, means they can fix the price they want, as people will "need" that service and pay for it no matter gets more expensive.

Rivallity means they will have to lower prices to attract the customers

lol jk I agree with you, but man I love Spotify they just always get it right, I am happy to give them $10/monthly for their algorithms ... curious what would be different with this platform. I am sure if artists are investing it's going to have some sort of artist to consumer concept

there have been plenty of "spotify killers" in the last decade, ironically spotify murdered them all  I think they should stop hoping and aiming for "killing" spotify and just focus on creating a good streaming service that can compete.

Not really because then you have to pay for several platforms to listen to multiple artists as they'll probably claim exclusivity , so in reality you'll pay more , I stopped streaming because honestly I have many other things to pay so I ran out of money.....

Yes Spotify is great! i Agree, but letting have the monopoly of the streaming industry is not assuring.. We don't pay much, but most of the profits go to Spotify, not to the artists, which is not fair either..

My issue with acts like these supporting new streaming services is that they are only doing it to line their own pockets, rather than support artists.

 

I'm sorry but Katy hasn't had a successful song in four years, and has never spoken out about artists rights or contracts or fair payment. Jason Derulo literally sampled a tik tok song for streams and named it after a different tik tok song.

A celebrity endorsement is useless if its surface level.

I'm sorry, but literally all those artists are streaming poison. Why would they band together to create a streaming platform to rival Spotify when even the combined alliance of Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye, Nicki, Madonna and Jay-Z couldn't do it?
