If you thought TLC contracts was bad in the 90s, due to social media marketing replacing old school promo tours and touring in general (many artists like Zayn, and people diagnosed with Anxiety and hatred of social interaction like people to people in person, trust me it's common to find these days humans who hate other human beings for existing outside their small circle and intimate family.)..

 

He explains everything is not written in the contracts and small prints, they know you want lawyers, so they basically lie in the contracts to make you think you have the best deal, but all that money is a loan, and many artists has explained, that is where all the stuff came back to haunt them, they thought they had the money, but they never did. 

 

Its called a 360 today, but that was common practice, they hire in house studio producers, and songwriters just to make money off of your image and voice. 

 

Writing songs and producing the work yourself actually pisses the labels off, as they aren't making a profit as they want to manufacture acts, not create superstars these days, once the public is done, off to the next act to exploit and use. 

 

That's always been the industry hidden agenda was to overwork human beings, but they never thought artist's would fight back to get a year or two off, but they could be dropped for not going with the agenda as well.
