Britney won't face charges in the battery case brought to the D.A.'s office

Britney will not face charges after being accused of battery by her former housekeeper, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office confirms.

The housekeeper filed a battery complaint against Britney in August claiming Britney mistreated her dogs. When the housekeeper took photos of the dogs, Britney reportedly swiped the phone out of the housekeeper's hand. The housekeeper claims Britney hit her arm instead. 

Britney's dogs were kept from her for two weeks before finally being reunited.

Prosecutors at the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office reportedly did not file charges due to “insufficient evidence lack of injury to the housekeeper or significant damage to the phone.”

Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, called the misdemeanor incident “overblown sensational tabloid fodder.” 

The allegations coincide with Britney's fight for freedom.

In a press release, Ventura County District Attorney, Erik Nasarenko, offered a detailed explanation. He says "Misdemeanor Unit Supervisor Blake Heller thoroughly reviewed the case submitted by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, and declined to file charges based upon insufficient evidence that a crime had occurred and the lack of injury to the housekeeper or significant damages to the phone."

It was previously reported Britney feared her father was behind this; a possible effort to shake her mentality and continue the ongoing abuse. Britney prevailed.
