Too bad because Lie Like This is a bop.

Practically anything with her name attached to it is a bop!

I love when I hear a song she’s written for someone else and her inflections and isms are so PRESENT! She definitely has her own thing. I’ve been trying to put people onto her for the longest 🤷🏽‍♂️

Welcome to the Olivia Rodrigo era of pop music :tiffsniffle_ny_miss_new_york_crying_sobbing_sad_tears: Expect to see sappy lame pop songs like Drivers’ License everywhere that teenagers can relate to :fruit_fall_trip_ouch_dead:

Sad and true. Julia’s over all talent trumps 75% of today’s “top 40” and unfortunately she’s not the only one. Ultimately artists are having to fight and push harder than ever for promo and at the end of the day, it’s radio and the industry who are to blame.

Side note: I listen to Julia’s “Not In Chronological Order” album on repeat at least once a week. Every song is beautifully crafted and sung while each track reveals another layer of the artist. If you have yet to listen to it, give it a spin. If you have listened to it, listen to it again. I fall in love with it a little more every time I play it.

it's only sad if you care about charts , there's plenty of great independent/indie music out there

it's only sad if the only music knowledge you have is billboard top 40 manufactured mainstream corporate pop music  and nothing else

if you keep living off spotify today's top hits to find new artists then it's your own fault

people need to expand your music horizons and stop living off gay stan twitter to find new artists

Most mainstream major label cares about charts.

Cos Julia who's signed to a major record label, is explaining why she's not being promoted.

@Prachi works in the industry, the charts are extremely important to the Music industry, it's an indication of what the public likes in whole.

Supporting Perez Hilton tho...:umsaywhat_adele_hmm_umm_thinking_confused_unsure:

It seems the way music is sold and consumed is so different from how we all grew up with. It sucks but it's ultimately this is a business to labels and companies always have to adapt to the current markets. Sucks, but you play the game or go independent a la Tinashe or Iggy.

cd time is dead! it's the new trend now and I think if streaming wouldn't exist physical albums would have had much greater sales as in the years 1990-2000 we wouldn't have been talking about 1 million sales but 10 or even 20 for my part I would continue to buy cds because otherwise the Cd will die in the next few years ps: I'm talking about all the artists

I mean, it's just common sense these days not to promote an album that's underperforming on streaming in particular. Like, it barely entered the Billboard 200, so of course her label wouldn't have the confidence to invest more time and money into the project that's ultimately a lost cause. I don't have anything against this artist, I'm just looking at things from a business perspective.
